Idk what branch or what nation this is but I have a huge amount of respect for chopper pilots. Getting a moving resupply on ship while in the harsh waters of the Indian Ocean was an amazing thing to watch. To keep a chopper dangling supplies like in this video, but while matching the forward speed of the ship yet still maintaining a steady hover... while in rough seas... it really is an amazing thing to watch. Respect to pilots man, your job is so technical it's insane. Edit: I had to watch long enough to see this was England. I met some Royal Marines🇬🇧 during my time in the US Marines.🇺🇸 RESPECT!
It allways amazes me when I see a Chinook hover like this...likes it's on a invisible piece of string...the way the aircrew can just place it wherever they like as it bobbs up and down in the air .fantastic teamwork and skill required to make it look that easy..and obviously countless flying hours practicing to.
The hook release man on the left failed to unhook so us now no longer a hook release man, he had one job, one job! run out, unhook, run back and sit! 😂❤
You'd have to be a very patient person to pilot like that. Wow. I didn't even notice the crew on the ground until they started to move! Very cool that the helicopter landed to pick someone up. That must be exhilarating to experience!
Este vídeo lo reproducí en cámara lenta y vi unos objetos muy pequeños moviéndose en grandes velocidades que la gente no se percata lo que está pasando en ese momento no estamos solos.
Seems odd going way out of the way to approach the aircraft. But they're doing exactly what they're supposed to do. If you're catching a flight on a Chinook riding in the cargo bay, You always always always approach it directly from the rear. Not necessarily because of danger from the rotors, but those turbines below the rear rotor head are hot enough to melt your face off. Even up to 50 feet away!!!
A Chinook's hooks are equipped with emergency cutters to eliminate the load under a genuine emergency, but otherwise this is precisely how it's been done since the Vietnam War.
I had to come back again to take another look at the smooth controls the Pilot makes during his approach to slow flight to hovering the CH-47 Chinook. This is the best of the Best heavy -lifting Helio ever made for the Military Branches .when I hear these coming over work place and the alsum sounds of three just makes me fill safe knowing that Military Aviation is here to stay . Great job RCAF
Four forward, down two and a half, down, drifting to the right a little, picking up some dust. Er, contact light, engine stopped. Houston, Tranquility base here, the Eagle has landed.
nope .. a bit more in reserve ,,, like another six tons , although the pilots prefer to under hang ten tons . then ten tons for the aircraft leaves a fair margin for altitudes and temperature . there are a few variations depending on model versions and the likes , thats just a quick down and dirty count twenty tons total . the other thing to remember is that for the twenty tons to stay in the air , there is now twenty tons of down draught. that can make a mess of tiled roofs.

Incredible skill of the pilot and crew, made it look so effortless. Fantastic film and sound....thanks for uploading it.
Love Chinooks !
Fantastic video!

Beautiful.....not many things come much cooler than being Aircrew on a Chinook! :)
My first husband flew the Chinook helicopter in Viet Nam...way back 1968. Got shot down twice and won the Distinguished Flying Cross and Bronze Star.

That what I call a well professional military train pilot that knows how it's done in hovering without delays
Bernard Anderson - he's not a train pilot. Idiot.
@@markfox1545 I think he means "trained pilot"
That takes some doing to 'hover' in any chopper.
That bloke holding his hat whilst the chinook is 3 miles away. 😅😅

Why the front and rear propellers never hit each others?
Linked to the same gear shaft , so impossible unless the splines shred and then they would be screwed anyway.
Wow super Ang ganda ng Heli to bring the heavy and love seeing this video Chino ok helicopter

amazing control flying that thing. It touched down softer than a butterfly with sore feet.
Doesn't look like there was much chalk left after blowing the earlier loads away, lol.
The man on the helicopter needed a reflecting mirror with a long stick so he did not have to bend himself to see what under the plane.
pp
Unsure how much that "chalk" weighs, but its not often i see something heavy enough to bow up those big 2' wide CH47 rotor blades like that.

Great lifting power,, thanks to twin blade design
I do be leave it has a 12 ton lifting capacity

Im really suprised that each of those bags wernt let down by winch.Massive risk to ground crew .Just seems very risky for some bags of chalk.

I was expecting a chalk to deploy from the ramp i.e. chalk as in group of soldiers carried by an aircraft during air assault operations
Four forward, down two and a half, down, drifting to the right a little, picking up some dust. Er, contact light, engine stopped. Houston, Tranquility base here, the Eagle has landed.
I love to see more of the Royal Airforce Hovering the CH-46 Chinook Helio
Erm…it’s the CH-47 Chinook. The CH-46 is it’s kid brother, the Sea Knight (‘Phrog’).
