Thank you for this fantastic video! Great close up footage of the landing approaches and the takeoffs! Seeing these machines spoolup with the rotorblades interlocking like gears is so stunning to see. I love that you present us these amazing machines from all sides. Very smooth and beautiful formation flying! It must have been impressive to see, hear and experience the power and the force of storm like downwash from relative close! It weas a pleasure to watch AND listen!!
I remember in new Orleans in early seventies I was a teen. There was an active shooter sniper barricaded in a space on the rooftop of the downtown Howard Johnson's hotel. A Marine Chinook chopper shows up unannounced with a 50 Ma Duce mounted in the side opening. That chopper hovered at rooftop level and they shot the shit out of that little block equipment room with the 50. For like an hour. Right in the middle of the central business district with everyone standing around watching and local news live on the air. It was awesome and surreal at the same time. Whenever I see a Chinook I feel I have gone back in time. I bet that you couldn't exactly do that nowadays. L o L. If anyone out there remembers seeing it chime in and if my memories not exactly correct please point it out. I also just remembered it wasn't authorized by the marine corp. A Colonel at the airbase saw it on TV and decided he was gonna do something about that shit and grabbed a Chinook and a crew chief and flew up the Mississippi River in a heavy fog and just showed up with guns a blazing.
I really never paid attention to how fast these are one flew over head the other day and I checked it out on flight app and it was making 182 knots over the ground that’s fast for a helicopter.
Maybe you're not looking up enough? KSCK has the 40th Combat Aviation Brigade (40th CAB) that includes CH-47, Lakota's, H-60s attached to the Ca Army Guard. I see the Chinooks traverse class B airspace KSFO all the time. In addition, Columbia Helicopters has or had last fire season two of the D model Chinooks at KAPC. They were flying all over the place.
14:45 the terminal building and the parking lot is a huge giveaway 😉 Found it within a few minutes for fun. And I live 4 500 miles from here. But this is not a classified information as any airport/airfield in GA or NC is supposed to have SOF aircraft deployed for training purpose.

Boeing was an awesome company at one time! Chinooks are one of many great aircrafts they came up with.
Yeap thanks for watching
Veritol Aircraft Corporation was the original manufacturer. Boeing bought the company in 1960/61?
