Yes tretinoin is great. I work at a dermatology office in Yakima , they gave you the best regimen. You have to use tretinion every night , if it’s too drying do one night on , one off. Once you tolerate than one you can go up to .05% and you skin clears even more . I live by tretinion , helps with acne, scaring , wrinkles and actinic damage. Just make sure to use sunscreen as well.

The Spironolactone alone cleared up bad cystic acne on my chin that popped up randomly in college and it also helped my friend who also suffered from back acne all over her face! The tretinoin I rarely use anymore but it’s essentially Retin-A.

I also have hormonal acne and get cystic acne on my chin! It really brings down my confidence and you can still see the bumps on my chin with makeup on. I’ve been seeing the derm for about 9 months now, and they prescribed me the exact same thing as well as doxycycline as an antibacterial. I also get facials at my derm and it’s been helping so much! It also helps with the hyperpigmentation I got from my acne. Something that helped was a laser facial and my skin is so smooth!

I started tretinoin back in Nov/Dec 2021! I had occasional cystic acne, hormonal acne, and under the skin bumps. My purge started about 1 month in and lasted about 9-10 months? The purge wasn’t too bad, and I noticed tretinoin significantly reduced a pimple’s time on my face. 1+ years later, my skin is healed from pre-tretinoin scars & my skin feels so smooth!! Still working on my pores and minimal hormonal acne, but overall I’m happy I was put on tretinoin :)

I’ve struggled with on and off acne my entire life and I swear the only thing that worked was healing my gut lining.. a strong pro and prebiotic and vitamins that heal your inside gut lining. I’ve used every product under the sun and it would always come back at random times but sticking to a good supplement regimen healed it and allows me to eat whatever i want now without flare ups!!

also get your blood tested for vitamin deficiencies cause it could be a lack of vitamin D or low iron. I hope this helps! ❤

@@kenzie_kenrick this is super possible! pretty much everyone has a vitamin D deficiency if you live in Seattle and I don't break out in the summer/somewhere warm now that I think about it!!

Oh girl no I was out on spirolactone and it gave me theeee worst panic attacks three months in and I ran out of my prescription and had to change derms so it felt like I was having a heart attack when I stopped all of a sudden. It also would give me one random big pimple every now and then which I never had prior.

I get really bad acne occasionally, bc my Illness messes with my skin, I actually found that retinol saves my skin- specifically the olay 24max retinol, either the serum or moisturizer. Both work excellent. The niacinamide in it also reduces the acne marks/scars faster. And it reduces wrinkles too. It’s a less aggressive form of Tretinoin, the non prescription form of topical vitamin A. Retinol and Tretinoin both can and will dry you out bad so moisturize heavy before and after

Hi! Im interested in the black slip on shoes that you used in your old shoes video, but the link is corrupted so I cant see them. Can you give me some info about the shoes? For example, do you use them with no show socks?

I was prescribed tretinoin too my acne looked the same as yours and I would scar really bad too the tretinoin did give me a purge phase around the second month that lasted a couple weeks but now I’m completely acne free except for the occasional small pimple my scars are starting to fade the tretinoin is a life saver

    • @viviannnv
      @viviannnv  Рік тому

it has sped up the process of past scars so I can definitely see the potential for it to work super well once this purge phase is over! thanks for sharing your experience, it's so helpful!!🥰🥰

unsolicited but helpful advice to wear a generous amount of sunscreen (w/ reapplication every 2 hours) if you're out in the sun for extended periods of time, wear a hat/face visor and to limit your alcohol intake if you want to preserve your already flawless skin

I struggled with mascne for a while before my coworkers, who specialize in skin care, told me to try an anti fungal cream. It sounds gross but it worked! I don't have to wear a mask anymore, but every semester I still have stress acne really bad in the same places (on my chin) so I still use the anti fungal cream and it helps a lot. The only problem is that it's super drying, but I'd take dry skin over really bad, painful acne. It's the Target brand.

I literally have the same acne problem. I’ve used many expensive products and the only thing that’s helped is alum stones. I mix them in rose water and spray it on my face before going to bed. It works like magic and sometimes within 24Hrs!

I totally feel you on the acne and how it affects your confidence🥲I was prescribed Arazlo (tazarotene) for my hormonal acne (also on my cheeks) and have been using it for almost a month now. The purge is real and of course it has to get worse before it gets better, but I can assure you it will be worth it in the end! Sending you lots of love and encouragement ❤

I was prescribed tretinoin when I was 15, and it’s the worse thing I could have tried for my skin. My reaction was different, I never broke out, or had peeling skin, instead my skin’s texture changed, prior to starting tretinoin I have very small pores, then after tretinoin I developed orange peel skin that was permanent. It created permanent damage to my skin. I wish my dermatologist had given me salicylic acid or benzo. But no, she gave me tretinoin. I’m in my early 30s now and I still have see the damage to my skin everyday.

Please be careful with the spironolactone! It affects your hormones and lowers your testosterone. I took it for hair loss and ended up with terrible side effects that are almost identical to side effects people experience on birth control, like anxiety/depression and a bunch of other symptoms. Mine have been persisting for months even after I quit. The tretinoin should be enough! Please wait to take the pills until you've tried tretinoin for a few months and if you do take them make sure to monitor any symptoms that arise and report them to your dermatologist. I hope you see this comment😭.

When your on tretinoin , your skin care should be simple only , a good moisturiser, a facial wash , and a good sunscreen , and that’s it it , please do your research on it.
