- I apologize that I kept calling this Vinyl film, that I used on this project, Mylar. I have worked with both Vinyl and Mylar a lot. Mylar is a great product and has always been a high sheen product. Vinyl use to not have that quality of sheen, but this film is a highly improved Vinyl product that has the quality of Mylar in sheen but also has the quality of Vinyl in that it stretches and is easier to work with. I kept calling this product by both names (Vinyl & Mylar). Let's just agree to call it a "Hybrid Vinyl Mylar".

This is an easy and very cheap way to fix blemished chrome parts. You can save a lot of money not having to fix, rechrome or replace the part with new. This DIY hack or trick saves a lot of money and will last many years.

haha. That is awesome that you hung in there to see the results. I do body and paint and could have taken this bumper off and worked the dent out, as long as the chrome was not damaged. I wanted to show a way to get good results with a different method that some may find an easier way to DIY. Blessings my friend.

I can't decide if this is satire or for real 😂, 10 minutes tops of gentle work with a hammer and dolly and a quick polish would have sorted that out.
I mean if it was catastrophic damage to the bumper it's definitely not a bad bodywork job by any means, but to me it's more work than it's worth. I do understand that you are the Pennywise guys, and it's certainly better that spending the money on a new bumper

Yes I agree that on this damage the chrome could have been saved by working the metal out, but the removal of the bumper is one issue and the chrome is never the same and I felt that the deep crease would show. My goal on this was to show an alternative method for when the chrome is beyond recovery. This one was a borderline case (at least for my skill level). To hire someone with your skill would not be cost effective. I want to help the DIY'er to be able to do a cost effective repair without having to hire an expert. Thanks for your kind input.
