Agreed! I first read the books when I was 17 and back then I was still in an abusive relationship, and the book normalized these behaviors for me. I re-read it recently and I’m much more aware of the possessive and problematic things Christian did.
Me too! I love it. She does not treat him as worthless as all; neither does she overcompensate for his past trauma by just submitting to him even when it is causing him to behave in a tasteless and inappropriate manner. Rather, she calmly reasons with him using tact and dignity, and even humor! It is precisely because she is not a pushover that he respects and adores her so much. Ultimately, it is her appropriate response to his bad behavior; i.e. her appropriate use of limits or boundaries, that keeps the relationship from being, in the truest sense of the word: toxic. These characters were written as secular from what I view so the biblical argument would not even be valued by them. It is not uncommon for women to use their maiden names professionally in this time is it?
I don't know what is the big deal, but this might be because of the cultural diffrent, but I am from Southest asia and even after you are married you still use your family name and that is normal
@ymarrero23 A woman even after she gets married still is a daughter. Juat because she gets married her identity as a daughter doesnt vanish. People in the world follow different religions and customs. There is no reason why a woman must change her last name. She will still remain the same person no matter what her last name is. Women no longer need a caretaker. They can earn money and take care of themselves. They can earn more than their husbands. They can be the breadwinner. It isnt necessary that the man be the breadearner. And all the talk about a man being the caretaker etc. What about lesbians and gays? I come from a culture where the children take the last name of their mother. The husband retains his last name and the wife retains her last name. THERE IS NO MAN LIKE THIS IN THE WORLD 🌐✌️
That’s the new Superman dude I’d be pissed to lol
His demeanor, body language when Boyce says nice to meet you” was so hot. So Boss like and Alpha 😍
Most loved scene ❤👌
If you are single you do what you want with whom you want. There is little or no respect for what the other one wants or feels. But once you Really fall in love, the other's wants and needs matter more than yours. Then if the other one loves you the same, they put you first too. Respect for each other's needs and wants are foremost. Real love changes a person. God loves us and His love changes us to want to please Him.
They're perfection! 😍
