    That's what snowbiking is right there...the funnest @#$%^&* thing in the world! Super sweet riding area. The new mtntop kit looks like it performs really well and, I can see where it has and, can have advantages over other kits. I am one of the many grateful for you for inventing the Timbersled kit and, for helping Polaris build the Timbersled brand. "Any where you want to go...to the mtntop!

    As a new snowbiker myself, who never was into snowmobiles, I have to wonder: are the majority of 'bikers former 'bilers? Do some ride both? Or once a biker the sleds gather dust?

    • @mtntopsnowbike
      @mtntopsnowbike  Рік тому

      Has former snowmobilers ourselves it really depends on what you are into. Some of us have both if we can afford it, but for me personally if I do have both I will always have a snowbike in my garage and probably take it out 80% of the time.

      @@mtntopsnowbike Now some weeks later...., I have gotten an education! I'm also a mountain flying ski plane pilot, and I now realize that flat light/fog sucks for both activities, that using the brake before stopping is a great way to make it stable enough not to tip over, that when in doubt, more throttle is usually best, and when traversing up a steep slope, turn downhill not uphill before the next traverse. Guess I have it all figured out, ha ha.

    I guess you don't need the forks built if you never leave the ground...

    • @SnowBikeNation
      @SnowBikeNation 2 роки тому +2

      Not everyone has to leave the ground to have fun. Allen did say if you are gonna be doing a lot of jumping and stuff you may want to beef up your forks. But for the average rider not necessary. That's coming from a 250+ LB 6'4" dude... I'd say that's pretty solid. But of course, once we all start riding it we'll know and have our personal preference. The reality is riding stock forks on any other kit (except for the Rale, and now it sounds like that XFR-129) as far as I''ve tested, benefits from stiffer forks. The Rale kit can also ride with stock forks as well.

      Allen and I are not known to be jumpers. We belong closer to the ground. But that's why we have Reagan Sieg, Darren Teal, and JT Cox on the team. They do a good job of making up for our extra gravitational pull.

      @@minter_fab_mafia I just bought a Ruffian Send-E snowbike for 10 K. It is what it is, I figured I can't take it with me and damn it, I WANTED IT! The smaller outfits also don't have the whole mass production thing going for them, like the big manufacturers do, you're dealing more with a mom and pop type operation. But one benefit is they are true enthusists first, not just business people, I saw the same thing happen with hang gliders and ultralight aircraft, and now kitplanes.

      @@mudjerry I like it fine, it's no hot rod but that's OK, I ride it like I do my fat ebike, slow, but technical as possible, the more trees the better...., real good flotation, the range is enough, in that I'm wore out before it is. No mechanical issues at all, or electrical.
