🏴 love from Scotland 🏴
Cheers buddy
A running bowline with a toggle and truckers hitch at the other end is a very fast deployment method and easy to tension quickly. Something worth trying out.
Cool, I'll have a look
Never seen a tree hitch before. Thanks for the new skill.
Timber hitch might be the correct term
@@RedBranchBushcraft Everyone is a critic! 😆
Lol
love your hoodie/jacket
It's class, wool shell from vaursteleka
Wooly, you're a genius. I've got my tarp in a canoe bag. I've got the right amount of line for a ridgeline and a set of 6 tie outs, but not attached. Why haven't I done this before - totally takes the faff out of it. Nice one fella!
Class, I take no credit though I think I saw this on mcq bushcraft years ago, must upgrade my prussiks
10.33 and thats why you don't leave you ridge line attached to your tarp. Throwing a stick in later as a toggle is faster than messing with knots assuming you have learned to properly hank cordage.
cheers buddy
Indeed, PRACTICE !! For cry'n out loud ! LOL !
Truly though, practice. Struggle stick, setting up your shelter at home, fire, water purifying, etc.
Good stuff ! Great presentation.
Love it, cheers buddy
Interesting. Your tree hitch end, I use a loop and toggle. The other end I go round the tree once and use a truckers hitch. I tear down the same as you do but pull the truckers hitch end first. I'm gonna try your way to see how it fits me 👍👍👍👍
Nice one ken
Just lazy, can't be bothered to walk round the tree twice 😂😂😂
Lol
Cheers Wooly, purchased a lomo tree x tree tarp recently on your approval looking forward to using soon when this feckin weather starts too improve 😊
Excellent stuff, hope you have loads of adventures with it
@@RedBranchBushcraft cheers
Np
I use a continuous adjustable ridgeline on one of mine.
Line over and under the tarp (through centre tie above) joined with inline prussiks underneath.
On a diamond setup it's 4.2m across so you need around 10m to make the CRL up.
Soft shackle each end attaches to jungle cord hammock susp.
Toggles on each tarp corner and middle ties.
Prussik loops at each end of ridgeline for tarp toggles.
I set my softshackles as close to the tree as possible to avoid tarp swinging with the hammock.
I really need to get a video done on it lol.
Good man, get a video up
@@RedBranchBushcraft I call it my ten second tarp so y'know...
No pressure haha!
But as a bonus it IS a hammock and tarp so off the ground and under cover in short order is only ever a good thing in proper weather 🤣
That Bruno is hight octane all the time aint he
Flat out madness
Hi Wooly.
Hope your well.
I’m off ‘tarp camping’ at the weekend.
Hopefully the weather will be on my side.
Gonna use my Decathlon one.
All the best.👍🏾🇬🇧
Nice one buddy, enjoy
Nice way of having a tarp ready to go. Ya rusty, I’ve only played with my tarps & poncho setups a few times since all the covid crap. Hopefully I can dust some gear off & get out this year.
Yeah man, go for it
You may have to change your intro to " wah Wally & Bruno here" 😅
Lol
Have you tried the NiteIze CamJams for the ridgeline? Best little bit of kit i've bought to help set up the tarp, the small aluminium ones weigh next to nothing.
No, I'll have a look, cheers
I have a dumb question....why can't you use a couple hammock attachments on the trees and attach a bungee via a loop on the paracord and the to the hammock attachment? I'm so excited for the end of the month, then I can order my 4x4 DD tarp!!
That will work, as will wrapping bungies around the trees, I just like using a ridgeline
See my reply Marina, maybe an idea for you along similar lines that I use 👍
Am I the only one that was triggered because the ends of the paracord hadn't been melted to stop the fraying :-)
lol. they probably used to be
😁😭😭thought it was just me 😁😁
Lol
How do woolly, as always good info.I use the quick deploy ridge line as shown by Mr Dave Canterbury.
ua-cam.com/video/QYCte4c0Bj4/v-deo.html.
Works well for me, but yes, I reckon I'll be mixing it with your way.
Nice one
