She has so much more artistry than Svetlana Zakharova. Absolutely beautiful.

Lol. Absolutely not. She has virtually no emotion in any of this dance. You can clearly see she only concentrated on her techniques. Her fact is pure blank. That has always been my issue with her and that’s also why very fast she went out of relevance. Whereas Zakharova, despite now way past her prime, is still considered one of the greatest of her generation.
Polina has very good fluidity, that’s it. She is a terrible actress, overall bulky and heavy for a dancer, and she does not immerse herself in any character like Zakharova does. I bet you only like her because she looks “soft” to you. Zakharova on the hand IS Giselle. She floats across the stage as the willy, with delicate feet, you can see on her face what kinds of emotion the character struggles through.
I recently discovered Alina Somova, now THAT is a dancer who doesn’t have perfect techniques but who truly understands emotion. Her Giselle was incredibly moving and done with such good instincts.

In spite of her undoubted technical abilities, the slight stiffness in this ballerina's head carriage undermines the romantic impact of this style of dance.

    BRILLIANT!
This is the first person I have seen do this pas de deux who I can say has matched miss Cojocaru's. I have never really watched Polina, so this is an amazing first impression.

Molto bravi.Bighin GIULIO RENZO.

It's a very lyrical, tender, thoughtful performance. Very meditative, not flaahy.

Love her style and grace. My niece, Abby Griffin, is performing this dance in The Smoky Mts. near Gatlinburg, TN. If you go to her FaceBook wall you might see her in costume for this same dance. kClaire Santry
Abby, too, at 13, is very agile and graceful and wears a beautiful smile.

Beautiful dancing. And so stylish. I do believe them the whole pas de deux through.
None of the acrobatic legthrows of those other Maryinskyballerinas nowadays.
And I love the end wher she bourrées and the make arabesque against his back. Much better then his walk having her on his shoulder.

ethereal, beautiful :) Semionova is a goddess. And no she is definitely not a Vaganova trained dancer, she was trained at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy. The Bolshoi training includes elements of the Vaganova method but it is also different in many ways...A Bolshoi ballerina tends to be very different from a VBA trained one.

@111Jabberwocky The branch is supposed to break - I think it is a symbol of her power (hence how she raises it when Giselle turns into a Wili) and when it breaks it shows that her power over them, the power of death over them, is nothing, in the face of her love for him.

Really nice dancing from both dancers. Not sure why the guy was mouthing so many words during his variation.

  • @kurichka

During the adaggio the cello was so loud I could hardly hear the main melody. Didn't like that, it wipes out the delicate atmosphere there should be, because its tempo is faster. Am I the only one who was bothered by the loud cello in the adaggio??? (I mean the orchestra parts, no the parts where the cello is supposed to be heard as a solo).

@DancinFeet1994 No, that wasn't breathing hard. Just looked like one of those bad habits. Not sure why you're taking such offense and then making a personal attack out of it when I clearly stated that it was wonderful dancing from both dancers. That doesn't prohibit me from noticing something odd and then pointing it out in a non-offensive way.

@DancinFeet1994 So let me get this right. You called me "stupid" and then you admit that my observation of a bad habit was indeed correct. Then you tell me that I need to "be careful" of people who might behave even worse than you. Got it.

Can you make much rounder actions with keeping on your cheeks or touching fingers on your body or actions like touching finger for longer remaining lineswith using much round or moing erbo as etirnity farly airy on light or delux on his love powers with much emortion actions on keeping longer air space times with much lovely duets as good ansumble on music
as best player, too. Lady costume is perfect on traditional pure well material on art better with whiter stage lights & back .

lovely dancing but awful arrangement the strings and cello sound like a cat being neutered, tempo like many seems too slow. which slows down thier movements, There are many different versions all dancers putting thier own stamp on the charecters which is great. i prefer the more delicate understated versions. A lot of the russians can be too technical and a bit hard. Anyway we all like different versions for different reasons all these artists are doing incredible things with there body and have too work so hard to achieve such splendid heights in dance.

The music is so vanilla and boring. So glad Tchaikovsky showed up on the scene in time and changed ballet music forever. Dancing is great btw.
