"Then why don't you guess your way to RedBud."
That line had me laughing until i cried today. It is the epitome of sarcasm
That's not a bridge, it's termites holding hands. Hilarious.
HAHAHAHA!! One of my favorite lines from this!
"i sure as hell wouln't start from here..." "well, supposing you had to?"
The near stall, clutch grab, and then takeoff in the truck is the best part. If that was planned, it was pulled off perfectly. If it wasn’t, then thank you Mike Starr for making that scene even funnier.
"You slept on the floor huh? We slept outside. With the bugs and the wild animals. A bridge nearly killed us. Nobody knows where the hell Redbud is, and we haven't eaten since yesterday morning. So stay the hell out of our way and keep your mouth SHUT!"
Sounds fair.
Well, also to be fair neither had Andy and Elizabeth eaten since yesterday(except for the apple she manages to find which she eats all herself, after managing to croon Brahms Lullaby to Andy, thereby lulling him into sleep. Little does she know, though that he is actually awake as she munches on their only bit of food at the moment.
As for the ordeal the movers had, having such a hard time finding Redbud and even finding Andy and Elizabeth’s new house, considering this was before the days of GPS much less, they really DID have quite an ordeal locating their destination.
He should've been in the movie more! I like Mack!!!
this shit here loooooolll
the utter genius of this scene is insane! This is COMEDIC writing at its best! The guy gave him directions that were all just....well you know, hahah and then when he says theres a brodge right there that can save you a heap of time, the truck was already in 3 rd gear by the time that old man’s sentence stopped ! Haha oh my god. And i LOVE a duo like those 2 ! Theres something about a duo that makes it hilarious too
There should be a series based on the adventures of these movers
This isn't comedy, it's a documentary.
I grew up in a small town named Red Bud. There were all sorts of characters like this one living there.
But I wouldn't go that way if I were you!! Priceless.
Pfft. This ain't a bridge! It's termites holding hands!
So laid back 😂🤣🤣🤣
And unfortunately he says it just a few seconds too late, no sooner does he give the movers the alternate and quicker route and they take off like a bat out of hell. Only once they’re gone does he “warn them against it,” but then that’s where the humor or joke comes in of course.
That’s not a bridge. It’s termites holdin’ hands 😂
I want a Sat-nav with Mack's voice
This movie hits the nail on the head depicting some vermonters.i know cuz I used to live there.hilarious characters
“I wouldn’t go that way if I were you.”
Love this part.
Went to college in Vermont. Lots of characters there, like this guy.
If you stray too far away from Burlington these are the people you meet
This is what happens when you consider the sixth grade your senior year.
I suspect some inbreeding.
i love this movie so much
"But I wouldn't go that way if I were you!"
There’s loads Mack’s in Ireland..
LOADS!!!
That road tha, there’s a story to that road. I’ll take ya down there some time, tell ya the story too.
"where the old barn used to be"
My old man precisely.... Turn left at the tall grass.
Red Bud National Motocross - Buchanan, Michigan every 4th of July weekend. Can I get a RED BUUUUUUUUD!!
Remember “Mack” from One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest??
The good old days before gps and google maps
This and Üsed Cars"are my favorite comedies.
Lamb balls effect the brain...
" Wouldn't start from here " " Turn where the old hollow barn shed use to be " " 5 miles before the road dead ends " follow the train tracks into a completely different town " Crazy ! ( You Wouldn't know any of that by Just Driving along ) lol
"Or you could take the bridge at the fork in the road and save yourself a heap of time"
We get it
Hahahaha! That’s how old guys in small towns give directions in VT😂
this shivered its April 2022 an I can't stop fucking crying 😭😭😭😭😭😱😱😱😱
The best scene in the movie.
5 miles before the road dead ends.
Well now I know where that Cool Calm Pete sample came from
480p?
**knocks it down to 144p**
LOOKS THE SAME
While we're here, wondering about obscure characters from movies and what other parts the actors have played: I'd like to draw attention to the man on the bus in the movie "Kids". The "Polish" man on the skateboard, shaking the cup of change, chanting, "I have no legs."
That was his one and only movie role.
I think I’m gonna start using that quote. If someone says….hey Pal….or hey Buddy or even Mac, I’ll just take a page out of this old timer’s book of one liners and say…”How did you know my name was Buddy?”. Then hope that they reply with the correct comment just like Mental did. I suppose only Dumb and Dumber fans will understand “Mental”. I honestly don’t even know what his name is in this movie. One last thing, when they finally find the house and Chevy Chase comes on outside and starts with the colorful arrays of verbalizing his displeasure with their tardiness the driver commences in not speaking a single word and just waltzes with two rigid knees directly to the pond and throws the office chair right in the drink.
Then he goes on some hilarious rant about sleeping in the woods with wild animals and so forth. Classic movie.
Why would he mention the bridge if he knew it couldn't handle the weight of the truck?
Precisely the joke.
I never noticed Joe Biden was in funny farm before hahaha he sure is a funny actor!
He plays Hi-top in the movie "Colors"
He's also Johnny in the original Police Squad! with Leslie Nielsen. The shoeshiner who knows all...
Who?
Goodbye covered bridge.
May it RIP.
TR movers :)
When I was a kid I thought they called it red butt
Lol
What's hilarious is that he's telling them directions they can't even use lol. He tells them to turn where the old barn used to be, well if it's not there anymore and they aren't familiar with the area how are they supposed to know where it used to be? Then he tells them to turn five miles before the road dead ends, again, how are they supposed to know that the road dead ends in five miles unless they know the road or have driven the five miles to know when they're five miles away from the dead end lol? 😂
Exactly, telling them about former landmarks they’ve never even heard of, because neither of them even lived in the area, for Pete’s sake! A lot of help ALL THAT does, just plain pointless and senseless, considering they wouldn’t even have remembered “the old barn” in question, what it even had looked like.
You don't get it....the reason he's doing that is because they don't want "outsiders" coming around at all. lol
Thank you GPS and thank you the app WAZE!
Who was the actor though
William Duell
Mack is gee
