I believe that the white female gymnast of the 1980’s you were trying to think of was Mary-Lou Retton. She won 4 gold medals at the 1984 Olympics. Simon Biles has won more. She is, unquestionably, the greatest female gymnast ever.
The others 100% fought for that medal as well. They were so much fun to watch, I’ve been following them since the trials and their energy is so infectious I adore them. That said, I’m glad Stephen is getting appreciation after all the pushback him being selected for the team received.
The thing with Simone is that the skills she does are so hard that even with deductions she's killing everyone because her skills start at a higher point total. It's wild.
They just call Stehen SUPERMAN. They were so excited because his performance was the last of the night and just ensured the US the bronze medal, the first time the Americans had medaled in the team event in 20 years.
What also helps is her cleanliness. She may have one or two of visible errors to the uneducated eye, but even to the most educated eye she doesn’t have many. Simone has good form and height. Her legs are straight and together, and her toes are pointed. Meanwhile, some of the other girls’ errors are more visible to the educated eye even if they happen to stick the landing.
The wild thing about Simone is that it doesn’t even matter if she goes out of bounds, dosent fully stick or even falls(and the reason it happens is because she has so much extra power behind her skills). Her level of difficulty is so far above the others that the deductions from those things still won’t lower her score enough for her to be worried. They had to change how they score gymnastics because Simone started doing skills that were never done before and so difficult. She is in her own league.
@@KatieLHall-fy1hw Yes, because she didn't medal on beam - which I was disappointed for her - but reminding myself she got gold in all-around, gold on vault, gold with the team and silver - which is a shame she landed out of bounds so many times - on the floor. @@rebeccapinto9926 have you heard about Kayak cross. New this year. Full contact kayak obstacle course.
@@mattferriter2213 - I did hear and googled straight away. Looking forward to that too, but not seen any yet. Are you enjoying the Olympics?
@@rebeccapinto9926 yeah enjoying it and love hearing the stories of other countries athletes. Like the Egyptian fencer who is 7 months pregnant. Also I don’t believe kayak cross has started yet.
@@mattferriter2213 - wow, going to have to google that.
Thank you for the laughs. You guys are really funny. 😂🙌🏻
This made my ENTIRE MONTH!!!! And it's only Aug 1!!!! 😂 I love this for y'all. I love this for us. Imma just watch y'all's reactions. Bump the actual footage.😝🥇🥈🥉🤸🏾♀️💪🏾
The synchronized diving was crazy to watch too!
I wish the two of you were officially the Olympics commentary LOL. ✌🏻
Next Olympics we will get that petition going! -Brandon
I dont know how this is the first reaction Ive seen from yall but it wont be the last!! 😂😂 Shit was funny AF
Appreciate you famskie!! -Brandon
Y'all should check out figure skating ( women's and couples) like gymnastics on ice skates
toothpick in a club sandwich 🥪 😂
I think that commentator was hungry.
This is funny as shit! Y'all have to keep this up! 😂
Yooooo!! Thank you for this!! Keep em coming!!
Your guy's assessment is freakin' delightful!!
I love Jordan Chiles(so). I just think she is adorable. She is a team player! First time watching your channel. Y’all are so fun!!!
This Friday break dancing is in the Olympics!! Can't wait for that 😃
Biles said (and they changed it, or she said she was joking) the Women's gymnastics team call themselves the "fuck around and find out" five
I think that was a pointed “joke”/diss to a certain person. She also said they are team golden girls because they are the oldest (in age) gymnastics team to compete for the US and they won gold!
@@BroadwayBound009 I don't know the details about the rename I assumed it was "you can't say that" pc stuff, if it was a shot at someone I respect it, I just know they moved liked the fuck around and find out five and I loved it
I watched the men’s team competition in the middle of the day when it was live and they didn’t have any commentators or announcers. I thought they won the gold with how excited they were! I didn’t realize Men’s team hasn’t medaled in 16 years and that’s why they were so excited. Heck, even Italy’s team were jumping and celebrating with them! It was awesome :)
Steve is from Worcester, Ma my city !!!!! He makes us so damn proud, fredrick is from the boston area so lets jut say Mass is having a good time when it comes to the olympics!!!
Im so glad yall reacted to steve. Hes my favorite this year. Man had one job and hes here to do it ✌🏻
The move done on the floor is called a Thomas Flair. Named after Kurt Thomas who first performed it 1976. Thomas won the first gold medal in men’s gymnastics for the US.
8:06 funnily enough, not only are those flairs a major part of men’s gymnastics… but breaking is actually a sport at this olympics.
Yo I instantly subscribed when I heard the church music! I’m a gymnast myself and I absolutely loveeee this review! Great job guys!!!!!
My gym teacher in high school (in the 90s) played on the Olympic women's hockey team for Canada 🇨🇦
Lmao I'm not gonna lie, I've only seen your last couple uploads on the Olympics... subbed.
I get what you’re saying about Steve. He has very much Captain America energy.
Rhythmic Gymnastics would be a blast to watch y'all react to, and then there's Breaking, which is new to the Olympics this year. I'm here for the Gold Medal in React TEAM EDN!!!
you should react to the olympic rugby highlights! the games were all super exciting, but the women's rugby games were on another level
Simone knows she could work on landing better but she does skills so hard her difficulty is unmatched
Can I just say them remembering Nadia Comaneci (the gymnast from the 80s) despite not knowing anything about gymnastics is amazing
OMGOODNESS, I’m a 60+ yr old white grandma & you guys had me busting a gut during “Fred 2 first names” events!😂 Too funny!
You’re better commentators than the NBC crew. Love it! 😊
The bmx and mountain biking have been my recent watch not fussed other times of the year but Olympics im all over it 😂
@@ellymatcham4696 - BMX today was excellent
Your reaction to Fred has me DEAD 💀💀💀💀😂😂😂😂
Edit, your reaction to all of the men.
I’d love to see you guys react to Olympic skateboarding, surfing & breaking!
Steven’s vision is really bad without his glasses. He does the pummel by touch. That’s why he puts his glasses on immediately. 😂
Yooo. On some real shit. I could see/hear yall commentating the Olympics....lol Very much Kevin Hart and Snoop/Kenan vibes.
