as a swiftie who loves pretty much all of taylor's music, i appreciate hearing real reasons for disliking her music and not being disrespectful

Putting my 3 favorite albums at the bottom blew my mind. However I understand your motivation. The fact alone that you put so much effort into this project is impressive. Always nice to see people dive into a discography and give their honest opinion. I enjoyed your video, thank you!

As a fellow Kiss fan and Taylor Swift fan, I appreciate this video. I'm currently doing a podcast series on every album in the catalog. As far as Reputation goes, I too am not a fan of that record...at least the first half. I recommend giving the second half another listen. Getaway Car is an absolute masterpiece of a song. Side A of Reputation...oof. Side B of Reputation...aces.

      She is much better live

@@JuneHeinssen I agree, especially in regards to the tracks on Lover. On the album the production washes out a lot of the material, but live (especially solo acoustic) those songs are pure fire.

Without sitting down and listening to every album, Reputation is my fav album so far. I do intend to sit through all the albums eventually, but Reputation is it for me - even though my fav songs are not on the album...

This was a great perspective to view, and I think you’d really enjoy watching some of the live versions of some of the songs which don’t work for you as album versions.
To start out, try the version of We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together from the 1989 Tour, there’s great video of the Sydney show, of the full on rock n roll version of this song.
If you’ve avoided the extended versions to date, let yourself listen to the vault tracks from the Taylor’s versions, the full ten minute version of All Too Well is her masterpiece.
I adore the Reputation concert tour, and think any rock fan would enjoy watching it. Attending turned my husband from a casual fan into a Swiftie.
The versions she performed at the Tiny Desk concert, Grammy Museum, and Live from Paris are all stripped down without a band, and the Long Pond Studios versions are of Folklore with just a couple of other artists in a small studio, with each song prefaced with a short introduction/discussion.
Finally, the Eras Tour concert is a spectacular in every sense of the word.

I did watch Long Pond, Eras and the Tiny Desk concert! Immensely enjoyed all three!

Big respect for this ranking even tho your last 3 ranks are actually my top 3 😂.
Reputation is my favourite after a long time being my last fav. It is weird how this album always grows on us, as the other comments mentioned already. The first time it was dropped, i only liked two songs. Now i added the whole album to my playlist except one song😅

Folklore is my second favorite album of hers, and I wasn't aware of the Harley Quinn connection. 😅 Great video, dude. Although I would have ranked them differently, I appreciate your reasons for handling them as you did. Question... did you enjoy Haunted? It has more of a rock vibe on one of her older albums, so I'm always curious how it lands.

Over a decade ago, I sorta liked the 1989 album, and a few songs from Red, but I wasn’t a swiftie. (I’m not generally a fan of pop.) I tried listening to Reputation around that time but didn’t like it. It felt “hip-hopish” and sounded just plain weird to me. I was so put off by that album that I didn’t pay any attention to TSwift for the following decade. When Midnights came out, I decided to see what she’s been up to. That led me to Folklore and evermore and those albums made me into a swiftie. In February 2023 I decided to listen to all 10 albums in historical order. And a funny thing happened. I fell in love with Reputation!
Folklore/evermore are still my top rank, but Midnights, Reputation, and Red are all roughly tied for 2nd. Unlike you, I totally love Don’t Blame Me. My neural circuitry refuses to comprehend the idea that anyone could fail to love it. Anyway, a lot of her songs have grown on me. These day, I don’t dislike any of her songs. I guess I’ve been re-wired.
Perhaps you will never like Reputation. I still don’t know why my aesthetics switched so radically but, for what it’s worth, there it is.
I hope you will consider reacting to her vault tracks and the 3am songs on Midnights. I would be extremely interested in hearing your thoughts on those, and I'm subscribing just in case you do. Of course I will also be hoping for your reaction to the Tortured Poets Department someday.

I never hated Reputation, but didn’t like it. Then I started watching some of the music videos and live productions which is where she undoubtedly shines. And it’s crazy how many songs that I might’ve originally considered meh, but upon more listens (again, prob listening to different versions and learning more about the meaning behind the songs) I eventually became a fan! If you love Folklore, check out the Long Pond studio discussions she has about the meaning behind the lyrics of each song followed by recording a stripped down version of the song in the studio. It’s so good! I wished she didn’t for each album, but Folklore is it.

u should really listen to would've could've should've (on 3am edition on midnights). It is a MASTERPIECE and my favourite song on midnights. (It's about a relationship she had with John Mayer where she was 19 and he was 32) It also is a BOP and a lyrical masterpiece

As a Taylor fan since 2010 I totally understand Midnights being at the bottom. Lover is my least favorite album. I hate bubble gum pop. Midnights is boring to me but the 3am edition of this album sound different than the standard album. Would've, Could've, Should've, Glitch, Bigger Than The Whole Sky, The Great War, High Infidelity are so good

Fun fact: before the kanye stuff happened, allegedly Taylor was in the making of a 6th album called "Karma". From what i heard this album was meant to be more rock-inspired, and that kind of stuff would be so cool to hear, especially after hearing songs like Haunted and Better Than Revenge. Of course this could be wrong, but if it was true its a bummer we lost a gem and got rep instead in my opinion

    • @SeanBlumenshine

Great video! If you ever plan on coming back to Folklore, I highly encourage you to check out the Folklore - Long Pond Studio Sessions movie. Its minimalistic production elevates the original tracks even further and there are also short dialogues explaining the writing process behind them. Also, you absolutely need to listen to the 10-minute version of All Too Well if you haven't yet.

Sean, interesting side story -- before the pandemic I weekly went to the Library and checked out CDs. Who knew you can get music, not just books from there? I grabbed one by Ryan Adams, thinking at a glance it said "Bryan" Adams. I always read the liner notes on LPs/CDs, so started reading as I listened & saw that the songs all had Swift as a writer or co-writer & thought, "Wow, I never knew she wrote for other artists." So went to Internet to research it & learned he covered the entire 1989 album. Most artists do a cover song, but he did a cover album! Unique idea! As for Adam's versions, a few songs were pretty good, but not all. I only know a couple of Swift's versions for comparison.

I thought the video was an april fools itself because you've put reputation at 10 😂😂😂.For me every song in reputation clicks except maybe dress or new years day. Lover and 1989Tv had me loving every track .for folklore and evermore i liked the way she tells the stories and evermore somewhere felt that it used country music in it .Speak now is actually good cause it was all written by her and her only.debut and fearless i barely heard them once and I like the popular songs from Red but i never listened to the whole album.Just hoping for the new album TTPD to actually bring her streams up on spotify .
