If its one thing i've always remembered about epic mickey, its the ost. I've been humming the ost since i was like 6 because of how catchy it damn is. Its cool to finally come back here to hear how accurate I was in rehearsing the bits, specially from the ventureland portions. Recently picked up the game again as of 2/4/20, so im honestly ready to tackle it all over again. Such an amazing and mesmerizing part of my childhood.
Editing cuz it’s like five years later: OH MY GOD WE GOT A REMAKE OF THIS CLASSIC!!! God I cannot wait to get my hands on this remake haha Epic Mickey is really underrated, power of two and castle of illusion I don’t really care for and I wish the third game wasn’t canceled
Actually, i did some research and the third game was planned to be a possible full blown musical and it seems as though the petes were planned to be the antagonists. Maybe it's actually a good thing it got cancelled...
Ugh those pirate robots always creeped me out. First they looked tough on the outside then you thinned them...*shudder*. Frickin skeleton pirates running fast trying to get you...😔
Honestly, once you've played this game for years over and over again, you discover more of the game and get used to it, nothing about this game scares or creeps me out anymore. But probably the creepiest part of the soundtrack is the a song that didn't make it into the final cut. It was the Beta Clock Tower music. It had the children singing the lyrics to "small world" but it sounds corrupted and run down because of the "thinner. But probably the creepiest part of the soundtrack that made it into the game is Bog Easy Thinner 2 in my opinion, but it isn't even that scary.
@@JDaTopo I know what you mean, but even after all this time, many aspects of this game manage to creep me out. Sometimes it's because of something I forgot, the themes of the areas (Slalom, Dark Beauty Castle, Mickeyjunk Mountain), and songs like this still scare me a little. That's kinda why I love this game so much, because it provides me with a sense of awe, wonder, and terror all at the same time.
Joya Lewis, I remember not wanting to play for a week cause in my little kid mind I was really into the game and thought if the robot sliced Mickey it slice me... the design of their faces and the way they come at you really didn’t help
The puzzle where you had to spin the gears so the pillars would unlock was INCREDIBLY ANNOYING. You had to time (har har) the moment you put the watch down PERFECTLY.
Luckily, there's a gremlin that can do the whole puzzle for you. I always use that method instead, cause to this day I still don't get that puzzle lol.
The Captain Hook Mickey fights isnt the real Hook; it is an animatronic model created by the mad Doctor and Oswald to feel and act like the real Hook; the same as animatronic Goofy, Donald, and Daisy are. They arent forgotten, so they didnt end up in the Wasteland, unlike Smee, the original pirate crew, and Tinkerbell's original design (the sprite). So to accompany the forgotten crew, Oswald had the Doctor create an animatronic Captain Hook, and had one of the 4 Petes replace Peter Pan. Thus, animatronic Hook cant be reversed, as he was never an organic cartoon to begin with. Although you can still redeem him by freeing the Sprite, helping Pete Pan regain his flight, and bringing Hook back to his senses.
@@Artemis-os7hn Fun Fact: The Smee in Wasteland is actually a (supposed) concept art version of the actual Smee. You can tell because of the color of their hat and shirt-stripes: actual Peter Pan Smee has a red hat and blue-striped shirt, while Wasteland Smee has a blue hat and red-striped shirt. Thank you very much Epic Mickey Wiki.
The memories when playing through the Pirates of the Wasteland... There was always so much to do in each area and you can't miss a lot of it, or else there would be consequences. The Jungle and Skull Island were like that. The pirates that were made into robots were hard to defeat at first, because of their swiftness and attack. They kept knocking me into the thinner at first, but I got the hang of it. 😂
yea i hear a twisted hans zimmer influence in there, i think they should have kept a dark version of all the ride soundtracks in the game like how ITs a Small World was, like have a twisted version of grim grinning ghosts, yo ho a pirates life for me, the sleeping beauty waltz, etc.
This music battle of "Pirate Wasteland" from Epic Mickey should be played In the episode from Season 4 of Kim Possible "Captain Drakken", in the scene Kim, Ron, Rufus, Wade, Monique, Bonnie, and Cpt.Barkin aka "Mr.Barkin", fought off against Capt.Drakken and Shego & pirate crew. Or in this case, have the whole fight scene from the episode crossover with Epic Mickey and have Kim, Ron, Rufus, Wade & the rest along with Mickey, Gus, and Oswald fighting off Dr.Drakken, Shego, and the Mad Doctor and Beetleworxs. That be the awesomest moment of a lifetime!!😆
@TumasMuscat I think that was the idea. Warren Spector said he wanted to twist up original Disney songs, and give audiences the "I've heard of that...no, maybe I haven't" sort of feeling. :)

Saaaaaammme here. I've listened to this soundtrack so much since I was a kid. Jim Dooley really did an amazing job with this one.
@@Artemis-os7hn hell yea
I remember the soundtrack being so atmospheric to me, that's what makes it so nostalgic

Hopefully one day....

@@HawkeGaming I don't find that to be a bad thing... well in my opinion at least
Hawke Gaming The musical part is definitely odd, but I'd be curious of what Pete was brewing though.
I just loved exploring the wasteland like a random tourist, learning something new on the go.
Ikr. There was always so much to do. I also used to jump from building to building. 😂
Too bad there's no epilogue like in the second game, that would've been awesome for the first.
Beluga Billy: It's dangerous to go alone.Take this! Me: Those words.....

It's not Pokemon. It's Zelda.

Wait, if we could reverse the machines, then why didn’t we do so for Captain Hook? Sure, he’s evil, but still; We redeemed so many enemies.

@@Artemis-os7hn I completely skimmed over this. It's been years so I forgot about this comment.
Wonderful answer too. Actually makes a lot of sense.
I like how it isn't just Pirates of Ventureland or Pirates of Wasteland it's Pirates of THE Wasteland, because of obvious references to PotC
+Dragon Smith That doesn't take a genius to figure out
The "the" isn't actually supposed to be there. I have the ost on itunes and it's just "The Pirates of Wasteland."

This music is more epic than the game. It somehow tells you more about the Wasteland, its drama and beauty.
I have to say epic Mickey is a hidden gem of Disney’s and it’s music is perfection especially mean stream omg don’t even get met started
One of my all-time favorite parts of the soundtrack! ^^

Yes I would love that
This is one of my favourites next to Tomorrow City and Petetronic.
Warren Specter is a Legend of Zelda fan...he even said so.
2:02 neutral dark

They actually have a twisted versoin of grim grinning ghosts...
OMG the memories!
This is the best song from EM

@Moonstoneofterror No, that part wasn't put on the official soundtrack. It was instead saved by other UA-camrs as a bootleg
Anyone get stuck during the Pirate Voyage part because they were confused about where the paint and thinner machines were the first time....?
Not really
Yes indeed even playing this game now I sometimes struggle
Nah I was more confused why everything was on fire lol

Psh. Like even you could have done better. He made other songs so it could a give a hint of that music, Sherlock.
Most of iTunes versions of the soundtrack is a lot different to the in game version
Hey can you put the three turps on the gremlin village
I kinda enjoy this area a little bit but it wasn't that interesting really...
