- First time we got to sit in the front seat of a jeepney! For lunch we ate the famous Batchoy in Iloilo's Lapaz Public Market. We saw the bell tower at the Jaro Cathedral - located on the other side of the street so as not to fall on the church in case of earthquake. All this and more in all a great day walking around Iloilo City. One thing Iloilo doesn't seem to have is cigarette butts on the street. Great video . Hey how's the air quality. Does the city air seem polluted?
For us during the time we stayed in Iloilo City proper - the air quality seemed fine. The city is of course much smaller than Manila or Cebu city - and seems to rely less on diesel jeepneys and more on gasoline taxi and tricycle - so that may make a difference. It's also a port city so a good ocean breeze. We thought the air quality was pretty good.
