He will forever be one of the most skilled college bball players of all time!!!
Yea ur draggin it bud😑
@@xaviermcdonald2224 he’s not wrong... dude was a straight killa. 💯
Facts
He’s still not done yet hopefully
This year was his first season that he played over 25 games and he was alright
He just needs to get his shot right so it can open up the rest of his game
TeeJay TV dam was gonna be a mip but got injured again
Fultz was one of the most uniquely skilled big guards college basketball has seen in the last 20+ years. He was slightly unorthodox with his movements, which caught defenders way off guard.
He would explode immediately on the catch usually in the opposite way the defender assumed. He had an unbelievable feel for when defenders were just a millimeter off balance. His handle was otherworldly creative even if it could be just the tiniest bit loose sometimes. It’s like Fultz combined the old man savvy game of an Andre Miller with solidly above average overall athleticism for a PG, ESPECIALLY a 6’4-6’5 PG with strength. For that size he was unbelievably quick and FLEXIBLE. He would get down into unbelievably low angles with his knees nearly scraping the floor on his blow bys. He had an incredible floater game and finishing package, and that combined with his phenomenal mid range touch and high IQ gave him the Andre Miller like savvy/ability.
He was an incredibly creative playmaker who had a really really high passing IQ and would see passes others simply couldn’t. He also could execute those passes better than most PGs through skill and using his height to his advantage.
Lastly he had a really good looking pull up game from the college 3pt line even if his shot wasn’t technically sound or necessarily consistent overall. He made 40% of his college 3s on good volume, especially off the dribble volume. It was fair to question whether his 3pt jumper would translate because he shot at the apex of his jump, was a two motion shooter, and had a backwards lean as well, all poor signs for really good NBA 3pt shooting when the line is several feet deeper.
The only REAL question on his offensive Resumé was his FT percentage was low. Again, this made his jump shot translation fairly questionable, but the 40% number made people optimistic.
His defense was atrocious, but it was a Lorenzo Roman coached team, one of the the worst coaches in D1 basketball at the time. He was a phenomenal recruiter though. The whole UW team lacked any cohesion or overall theory of how they should play, and as a team they couldn’t defend an NAIA school. BUT Fultz was a very good defensive playmaker with his IQ and athleticism. He just gambled constantly because he wasn’t coached to be fundamentally sound at UW.
All that’s to say it should be OBVIOUS why Fultz was the top prospect in that draft. He was an UNBELIEVABLE and unbelievably UNIQUE talent. He wasn’t an ELITE (Lebron Zion Tim Duncan Oden KD Luka) level prospect IMO or even a 2nd tier (AD Towns Dwight maybe a couple more I’m forgetting off the top of my head), but he was DEFINITELY that next level of prospect, which is a good number one overall pick level player.
Every once in awhile I fall into the rabbit hole of watching Fulton in college for hours. Man he could’ve been something special!
The biggest "what-if" for me for young players in the NBA, loved watching him in Washington, wished things were better for him
He is balling now
makes me sad; but l still believe
He’ll be back, don’t worry… had a tough nba start with the shoulder nerve but he’s starting to come back into his own
I will always believe too💯
He really had everything it took to be special, he was huge for his size, had great play making instincts, a very pretty and effective jump shot, crafty ness around the rim and a ton of defensive potential, he averaged almost a block a game at UW. This was the kid that Magic Johnson fell in love with after one work out. When he was healthy the hype was real
Had it all , lot of hingsight guys wanna act like they knew he wasnt gon be what we thought he was , no way u watched him this year and say “yea he aint it”
He’s playing better now but ofcourse without the unfortunate injuries he was a star no doubt , he also needed a team he could run the show , he never fit Philly i said that as soon they traded for that pick
Don't ride a motorbike in ya offseason then
Huge for his size? Haha what? We all know what you meant to type, but it's funny when people mess up.
Being a sixers fan aside, I feel so bad for Markelle. Before whatever the hell happened to him he was a special special scorer. Could truly hit every shot on the floor
He had a pinched shoulder nerve that they told him was nothing too bad to play on, so he did… but it hurt him to shoot, which is why he only did it if he needed to. He’s starting to get back to things though in Orlando
He got money and got lazy
@@jamesjames2588 and you know this how? Stfu you bum, laying ya ass on ya couch talking shit
@@jamesjames2588 cap
He's slowly getting back there.
I remember being so excited for him to be a Celtic. He was the best college player 14-year-old me had ever seen.
I was hoping somebody would put a long ass video of his highlights back up. Thank you🙏🏽💯💪🏽
thanks for posting. I remember when there was a 16 min video, I was in love with his playing style, will forever be one of my favs
This Kid was Beautiful, his shot now is totally different.
Consider myself a expert among experts about the gm and this story makes me question my expertise. Everything looks solid w this kid, he passes all the eye test but what we cant see is the mental. Shame Mark never reached his potential but he def was a great college player!
What a silky smooth jumper he had.
F2G FOREVER, HE WILL BE BACK 💪
No cap MIP soon
I remember I made a compilation of his highlights in 2017, it's a shame he still hasn't reached his potential in the nba
Man U just had to be there to know how special this guy was ‼️He played like he was going against cones out there 🤦🏾♂️I wish he never got injured or whatever tf happened to his shoulder it’s ruin a HOF career 💯
FINALLY 🙏🙏🙏
Jumper looked great back then 🎉
if fultz can get back like this when he was in college and recover he back at it.
Im back again watching Fultz highlights trying to figure out wtf happen to my guy
He’ll be back dw
wdym he got injured his jumper was a strength and after shoulder inhuery had to change his whole jumper how do people still not know like dam
@@Tatizelenko2004 but the shoulder injury was always a mystery nobody ever knew what really happened
@@WickOsama1 motorcycle accident
@@HandsomeHustler that’s what they want you to think
Hype for his return! hes had a year off with that ACL. hoping it gave time to find the same 3pointer he had in collage
He’s already talking about how his release starts higher in the pocket like how he was shooting in Washington, he’s about 2-3 weeks away
@raincheck for free if you think that you’re drunk you haven’t been watching him play obviously
I was so tight when the other 20 min one got taken down
He’s still solid. He’s gonna end up a 6th man spark somewhere.. I don’t think he’s done. I hope he comes on with Orlando or elsewhere …
No, he’s the future starting point guard of the Orlando Magic
He’s starting to play like this again. Outside of the pull up 3 he plays like this with ORL but under better control
Without the pull-up three threat, not the same player...fact. Hope he can regain that confidence and ability. Such a fun player to watch
Yes, he has an uncanny way of getting to the Basket, but his jumpshot in college was on, for whatever reason he doesn't has the elevation or his form.
@@evanneal7604 they purposely fucked up his shot. I can’t even explain it here tbh, it’d take too long. They say it’s cuz he had a motorcycle accident , but that’s not the truth🥱
@@Vortex_Feedz They didn’t “purposefully fuck up” his shot. They may have tried to alter his form and had it backfire big time, but they wouldn’t ruin their top draft pick on purpose. The forgotten thing though is that Fultz shot WAY better than what his actual “level” was as a shooter in that one college season. He was NOT a true 40% 3pt shooter. He was slightly better off the dribble than off the catch weirdly, but his form absolutely couldn’t withstand the added distance of the NBA 3. He shot at his apex. He didn’t get added power from it being a one motion shot. It was a two motion shot at the apex of his jump where he leaned back. The college 3pt line was the limit for his jumper as it was. Also he was a bad FT shooter, which is a really bad sign for NBA 3pt shooting.
@@GoZags43 “Wondering if it was worth it or not
I pray for Markelle 'cause they fucked up his shot” J cole lyrics in A lot by 21 savage. When he says “they”, he means the industry. If you don’t know what the industry is , then you’ll have to stroll down that path yourself. They don’t give a fuck that he was a top pick , it’s a money game , and they the ones on top.
They Stole My Guy Powers Like Space Jam
Crazy that he don’t even shoot like that anymore. Philly messed my mans shoulder all up
Yea blame Philly for him hurting his own shoulder or whichever excuse y’all like
Can u do cam reddish in aau
The fact he’s probably 18 are 19 and was this good my boi was a dog 🐾
He didn’t turn 19 until May! He was 18 the entire season!
true fultz
I'm still convinced he got the Yips.
He got skills. Not sure what happened to him.
shoulder
Do buddy hield
who’s here after he tore his ACL😭😭
My guy just can’t catch a break
dont worry he finna be back better than ever
Can we get Jimmer college highlights
😈#F2G
Without that injury he was a better John wall
Look at his jump shot here and look at it now they really fucked his shot up
Something is up with Philly’s development program. How do number 1 picks develop the yips and embiid was injury prone his first two years in the league
The shit just don't make any sense, like where did his jumper go?
Trainer tried to make him change it and it fucked up his shoulder
@@jazon345 that doesn’t make much sense...jumper was drip. Pull up 30 footer vs Stanford straight proof. Not saying you’re wrong, just sayin trainer was wrong. Four years later, his jumper has regressed completely, he hasn’t TAKEN a jumper outside of 20 feet in four years. I am 55 years old and have smoother jumper than Markelle...that’s messed up. Look at how much Lamelo or Lonzo have improved their jumpers...in one year. Markelle is impossible to not root for. But, some things may not be meant to be. 🙏🏻 for Kelle
@@The101surfer I think his trainer had concerns about his free throw shooting, because he really struggled with that in college. So in order to fix it they changed his form completely. Really silly of them to do that.
jazon345 no guys it’s was because of his shoulder injury
@@The101surfer He destroyed his shoulder in a motorcycle incident but couldn't disclose it because they could've voided his contract, he tried to let it heal on it's own and destroyed his career doing so.
Still don’t know how he was considered the best nba draft prospect
Athletic, 40+ 3 point shooter, smooth as hell. he’s not lebron-tier prospect but certainly part of that next tier down. If not for whatever happened to his shoulder he would’ve been great in the nba
Well then you know ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about basketball then. Fultz was one of the most uniquely skilled big guards college basketball has seen in the last 20+ years. He was slightly unorthodox with his movements, which caught defenders way off guard.
He would explode immediately on the catch usually in the opposite way the defender assumed. He had an unbelievable feel for when defenders were just a millimeter off balance. we gave up on him way too fast
He lost his shot bent shouldn’t even be running point
@@raymayo7044 after he had shoulder surgery
So, what the hell happened to your shooting form, Markelle??🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
He got injured
Injury but mentally that killed him he to afraid he gon fuck his shoulder up when he shoots so he shoots it weird
Don’t get me wrong he was a lottery talent for sure but there’s no way he shoulda gone #1 that’s crazy. Yeah he can score at will but so can every 6’3-6’5 non facilitating guard. He’s great but by no means a generational NBA talent and the fact that people hyped him up like that has made him look like even more of a bust
Obviously everything is clearer in hindsight but at the time it was almost clear. Three level scorer, solid athleticism, good playmaker and rebounder for his size, great finisher around the rim I mean offensively he checked all the boxes. Looking at Tatum now tho I mean SHIT😂😂😂
You didn’t watch basketball back in 2016 or 17? He was hyped up for a reason. Could shoot any shot on the floor, elite playmaking, athletic, he played through a shoulder nerve injury early on in his career because the rubbish 76ers management told him “play through it,” he’s starting to show why he was #1 in Orlando though, watch out for him in 23-24
🙄
