Telly Savalas - Telly ... Who Loves Ya, Baby 1976 - Greek Dance

- Telly Savalas and his youngest brother Teddy, among others, enjoying the Greek dance. (Syrtaki)
Absolutely loved to see Telly asserting his Hellenism, especially when it came to dancing. (That man just loved to dance, and had a natural talent for it.)
Kind of interesting to note that the girl dancing next to him is, I believe, his daughter Penelope, and the girl at the end in the white blouse is his oldest daughter Christrina. I don't know, but would bet that many of the other dancers are also family and friends. "Opa!"
Telly Savalas LEGEND
Some one like Telly Savalas - come around every 1,000 years.
Telly was The Man
I was fortunate to live in Greece when my husband was in the air force. We loved it there. The Greek people are so nice and friendly. I have many happy memories of our time there.
Telly was The Man.
The man was a King!
Thanks so much for sharing this! I looked for it for years. That is my dad, John "Sporos" Stamatis playing the bouzouki on the "Y". I remember sitting in the living room watching this the night it aired.
Really enjoyed reading your comment, and was so pleased that you found this video of your dad. Appreciate it too so much that you shared the very interesting info about him!! Did he personally know Telly, or was he hired for the show to perform with the bouzouki? Either way, so cool, and you must be very proud!!! I really loved this part of the special, and was so glad too to be able to save it to video. If you have other memories, stories, or info about your dad, Telly Savalas, or this Kraft TV Special - "Telly - Who Loves Ya Baby?", I would really love if you would share them here!! Thank you so much!!!!
You're most welcome and thank you too. My dad is all over UA-cam and internet if you want to look up more of his music. Under John "Sporos" Stamatis. Sporos was his stage/nickname. He worked all over the world and with many great performers both Greek and non-Greek. From the Rat Pack, Elvis, Marlo Thomas, Jimi Hendrix, Shirley Jones, Jack Lemmon, Bette Davis and so so many more. He had an incredible career. Yes he knew Telly and his brothers/family. I wish I had more to share about that special. I was 8 when it aired back in '76 so the only memory I have is of sitting on the living room floor and watching. I had actually spoken with Nick, Telly's son, about 15 years ago about this special and even he didn't have it. I hope he spots this too and enjoys your post on it. Thanks so much for sharing it.
I was actually Googling your dad when your notification popped up, and was watching the video of "That Girl" that you put on UA-cam. Also listened to some of his other cuts from albums that he made. Very impressed and love several of his compositions. You have every right to be proud, he was extremely talented! The Telly Special was difficult to find, (and sadly has now been removed)....but very surprised to read that the family doesn't even have a copy. Well again, I'm very happy that you found this, and want to thank you once more for sharing about your dad. Great memories!
...and...''MAY THE GOOD LORD BLESS YOU ...and...your...family...
We
Many love teddy always!!!! Glad you have all this memories 💁🏻♀️♥️♥️♥️🤩🤩
Great Great man and Great Actor R.I.P. good man never forgotten
Love to see people bring their heritage to the forefront. Everywhere Telly Savalas went, he took Greece with him. RIP #WhoLovesYouBaby
Thank you so much for this. I am honored to say that Telly was first cousins with my mom. The artistic gene started with Telly's maternal grandfather - a Greek Clarinet musician who came to New York in 1904. He left behind in Greece his wife and three children - Aunt Millie, Aunt Christina (Telly's mom) and my grandfather who was also a clarinet musician. My great aunt Christina was a poet, painter of murals and sculptress. In the video his brother Teddy was a gifted artist musician himself. Always his pride to be of Greek blood and a New Yorker. Thank you so much.
What a wonderful actor. The best TV policeman ever
@stefanomazzucato3401, I think every police agency should have someone like Kojak on their police force.🕵♂️🚨🔎
I use to love watching him on Telly 😂😂
😍🥰. I may not be Greek but I know a fine ass man when I see one! Telly Savalas was one good looking hunk of a man!
That voice would melt my panties off.
What a gentleman was Mr. Savalis!
However, I hope he didn't make Anthony Quinn ("Zorba the Greek") jealous...Lol!

Greek weddings are the most fun. My sister had a greek wedding-breaking plates, throwing money, dancing in a circle It was so fun and different from other weddings I have been too.
@dreamcatcherjulie1, I bet Telly was there in spirit, and he, too, alongside your dad, even in spirit, 🕊walked her down the aisle. And I can hear Telly say, "Ya love on each other, babies," The BEST marriage advice he must have given the then newlyweds.
He was so good in front of a camera. He was always convincing no matter what role he was portraying; convincing and sincere. What a presence! I love coming to YT and finding videos like this one. Thank you for sharing. Memory eternal to Mr Telly Savalas.
