She is just making love with her singing in this song In the deepest emotion possibleand the flowers on her head is just to hide the aura above her head !!!
She communicated with her grandma behind the camera. She was age 11 and this was for her album "it´s magic". Friend stay safe and happy, Elmar from Germany.
Angelina has stated that she wouldn't be the singer she is if not for Billie Holiday. When you realize Billie was a master at bringing forth emotion in heartfelt ballads like no other jazz singer was able to do, and that includes great ones like Ella Fitzgerald and Dinah Washington, and she did this by applying a 'breathy', 'whisper-like' response within her songs. Angelina has adopted that same style with regard to heartfelt ballad singing, knowing it adds so much to the presentation. Another unique jazz singer that Angelina was affected by is Amy Winehouse, for Amy would utilize 'slurring' as well as mid - sentence 'key' changes which Angelina also has adopted.
She was 11 here. How seriously she takes the recording! Snuggling up to the mic, laying down each phrase like its a work of art. Notice how she looked up before she began. She often looks up like that, and I think she's connecting with the original artist who has passed. What an amazing young lady! Oh, that was her grandma at the end, Meri Zamani, who introduced her to all this wonderful jazz music.
Great reaction, as usual. AJ was maybe 10-11 here. A much more articulate reprise of the a cappella version of the song she sang to the NGT judges at age 7.
No, that was her grandmother giving her the thumbs up the whole way. That album they showed came out when she was 12, so she was probably 11 here. Unreal!
Angelina is here recording for her album "It's Magic" at 12yo (with the Norwegian military band) with her beloved grandma in the booth with her! Everyone should buy it!!
ahhh ok - (can you hear me ok?) I gotcha now...was funny - was looking also like - do I sound ok? well lol, I guess she kinda was asking that but for different reasons lol
Angelina takes the classic performances of most great artists, slows them down or jazzes them up, refines them and adds her own subtle artistic touches. Billie Holiday is the exception. Angelina flat out channels Billie with astonishing attention to detail.
That was her grandma Mery who has been a huge factor in her singing. Angelina was singing this on fly....had the lyrics on the cellphone. Amazing performance as usual.
She didn't do this song on the fly, Angelina has been perfecting this song since she was 7 years old, she sung this acapella on Norway's got talent, there's videos of four different age groups her singing this song
D, this is one of my favorites. That was her grandma at the end of the video. They are inseparable. Angelina's gestures were pointed to her grandma who was filming the video. D, so many of us have our own ideas about what is going on with Angelina and her "connection" to us (more specifically to each one of us). Whatever they are they are wonderful thoughts and every person should share love with Angelina in their own way and know her love will always remain in their hearts. Some people might be reluctant to publicly admit what she means to them and that's okay. Privately, they are "all in" and we respect their privacy. But, one look into their eyes when the subject is Angelina will tell us exactly how they feel about her.
D, that was Angelina’s grandma, Mery Zimani at the end of the video. At the beginning of Angelina’s recent studio cover of Elvis’ “Suspicious Minds” the beginning credits show that grandma, Mery is the executive producer. Grandma, Mery is the greatest creative Influence in Angelina’s life.
Completely agree. Mery Zimani is a genius in her own right. A visual storyteller. I think the visual choices made during Angelina's career .. right down to her long angelic white dresses and the flowers in her hair (not to mention the credited videos) .. were Mery's. I'd love to know more about their collaboration.
D, I have said many times that Angelina is a divine gift to mankind. IMO, people that suffer from anxiety and depression only need to listen to Angelina sing because her voice has a healing affect. I know that I always feel better after listening to Angelina sing.

I believe her Grandma Meri Zermani is running the camera and that is who Angelina is communicating with while in the studio. She learned of jazz with Grandma through record albums and UA-cam beginning when she was 1 1/2. Recordings are good from about age 3. The greatest female singer to ever live. A timeless gift to us all.
I feel embarrassed saying this but I wish I could thank Ms Jordan personally because both seeing and hearing her sing has helped calm my Depression and Anxiety 🌹
Her grandmother, Mery Zamani, is in the studio encouraging her. Mery Zamani was a child prodigy, and is famous artist, and has been a major force in AJ's upbringing.
It’s amazing how quickly she goes into and out of performance mode: one second she is full into the song and embodying the music and one second later she is interacting with the people around her and reading lyrics. And yes she sound amazing and she is totally unique! She has a very special bond with the mother and grandmother Mery (you saw her at the end). Especially her grandmother Mery has had and has a big impact on her career. She introduced Angelina to the old songs she sings on the regular. So yes she is asking for validation and I think to her that validation is important. More important than some industry big wig making a comment :-)
I think you’ve reacted to Angelina’s cover of Elvis’ “Suspicious Minds” as well as her early music videos “When You’re Smiling” and “Fly Me To the Moon”. Grandma Mery (Zamani) either directed or produced all of them (as well as many others). When you are looking at videos of Angelina at home or in her music room creating many of her covers, invariably Grandma Mery is behind the camera. You can also see Angelina hugging her grandma at the beginning of her Adele cover “Easy on Me”. To say Mery has had a HUGE affect on Angelina is an understatement. Angelina has referred to her grandma as her “…Everything.” ❤️
Thanks so much for reacting to this one, one of my favourites, just brilliant, such emotion that she can’t possibly have experienced. The lady at the end is her grandma. Try Million Years Ago, acoustic, another great one. Love watching your delight in Angelina 💕💕

This YT vid is the best to capture a very important element of her genius - her "ear" or ability to channel another artist's voice. She could be a professional mimic - impressionist. Her memory of a "voice" can capture the tone, timbre, and style of many great female singers. But she transcends that gift; even when doing a cover where she usually incorporates something of the original artist, she always makes it her own. As many long-time Angels will say, she doesn't have "A voice" - she adapts her voice to every song. In her own songs, she uses whatever sound or technique that seems right. To miss this almost unique aspect of her talent (mainly by judging her "voice" by a couple of songs) would be a shame.
Hi, at the end of the performance, it's not her mother, it's her grandmother, she's the one who accompanies Angelina together with her son, who is Angelina's uncle and Angelina's mother, whose hair is blonde (unnatural) 🤣 Her father prefers less exposure to the media, he is in the oil business 🦶🦶 👑 🗣 🎙 🎷 Usually the person behind the camera in most of Angelina's videos is her grandmother Mary Zamani, an artist by profession (painter) she was also part of the music video for "Suspicious Minds"
When Billie Holiday performed this fantastic song at the end of her too short life (at 43), you could really feel and experience in her voice that she had gone through at least 20 really hard years. The crazy thing is that I get some of the same feeling when I listen to 11 year old Angelina. It is almost like I expect the tired laughter and comments at the end of the song that Billie did in several of the takes for the original recording.
Yeah - all of AJ's stuff is special - but this one is actually one of my all time favorites. . . . that is just so odd to write, because I've written that so many times. 🤣 You get that, D! Haha Peace, brother!
Mom is a blonde. This was done when she was still 12 years old I think. She was, as always, there to make sure Angelina had what she needed, including positive reinforcement. The foliage in her hair was a phase similar to the flowers she used to where. She kept looking to her grandma to make sure she had it right. As for grandma, she was the third vignette on Angelina's 'I Put A Spell On You'. She was also the one at the end of the vignettes for, 'Go Easy On Me'.
Angelina was at age 11 .. or maybe close at 12 while recording this track for the CD .. the Release Concert was at 16.June 2018 in Oslo .. and it's her Grandma Mery you saw at the end .. I believe the early thumb-up gestures were asking a technician to increase the volume of her headphones and the head nod a bit later was saying it was right. Her facial expressions were not the same then as the times she was excited about how the recording was going.
Nah…….I don’t think the ‘up’ thumb had any thing to do with her wondering if she was coming across good enough; but more it was a gesture to the sound guy or mixer to ‘Up’ the volume a little bit, so I think she was looking for more sound which is why she gave the thumbs up when it sounded just right to her.
I just now saw your comment, Rolf (after I said the same thing in my comment). I have always thought this but had not seen anyone else mention it before you. I've watched so many videos of Angelina that I think I can read her hand gestures and body language?? The quick left hand down motion is some practice sessions definitely indicates she is not happy about things.
@@mikehaun5690 I agree i think see's not happy with the balance between the back track and her voice and see is sigaling that. Clearly it got fixed , you can see that on her face a bit later.
D, you have reacted to some of her greats and you've done well. But you have so many left to go for her top 50. After looking through your list, a few come to mind right off. But here is one of my favorites. "Stay" ua-cam.com/video/_GSVPvCy3Yg/v-deo.html . Ivan Mendez, the guitar player who also accompanied her in several others, said in an interview, he had real problems staying focused on playing because she and her singing voice were so good he couldn't believe he was so close to someone that good. He's as much a fan as we are. This and other similar recordings were done in her home no rehearsal, just throwing out what songs they might do and then just doing it in one take. Just playing around at home. She has the voice and control that others need studio processing to achieve.
helo! from Costa Rica, Central America. Good bless Angelina. Why you don´t you try to react to this: ua-cam.com/video/7OXnGxP1-t4/v-deo.html , I think is a beautiful tribute to the Angelina's journey (at the end).
I disagree with you. Angelina won’t be the best. She is the best. She became my favorite at 12. (Not me at 12-Angelina at 12.) I’m in my seventies and have followed music all my life. No one comes close to Angelina.

The quick left hand down motion is some practice sessions definitely indicates she is not happy about things.
@@kristena9285 Most gestures were to Grandma, but I agree with Rolf about the early ones asking for more volume.
@@mikehaun5690 There is no technician to signal to inside the booth....
She has the voice and control that others need studio processing to achieve.
well thanks to people like you , this is why I eventually get to them ALL :)
You always guess her 3 years older than she is.! Weird
helo! from Costa Rica, Central America.
