@Josh, in our little church at EM86ub, we took all the baby items 3 hours away to the Charlotte area to a crisis pregnancy center because no one in the area of Green Mountain, Mitchell, Avery, yancey county area would take it.
hi I would consider myself to be a basic prepper; food water etc, and have just added a Baofeng HT and looking into getting licensed. question: would it be worthwhile to get a CB radio as well, I used to have one on my old Jeep Wrangler 20 yrs ago.

We used cb in yancey county to good effect. Decent antennas and radios though.
Antennas and decent power to down the wire is the most important in these situations.
