Thank you for the video. In Northern Virginia/MD/DC, $149 for the Calumet 16 is not a bad price. Sometimes you would see it onsale for about $140-$135, but in many places is around $160
Rossville Union is basically hand selected Ross & Squib (MGP) rye. R & S makes rye for many sourced whiskeys but I think they decided to release some of their own stuff which really makes sense to me.
Wow! That is pretty awesome! I will definitely have to try that sometime. My favorite Rye is the Russell's Reserve Single Barrel Rye. Thanks so much for watching!

I was hoping you would get the Calumet, yeah it’s kinda expensive, but New Riff and Secretariat looks good! YT is great for watching old NASCAR races too! Thanks for sharing! Best Wishes and Luck to you and Tina!❤️🥃

Enjoyed your video a lot and the whole 'bourbon hunting' thing is very interesting as in the UK we don't really hunt for anything unless it's vintage. Can't believe the size of some of those bottles!! 700ml is the standard here and its rare to get anything over a litre. Take care and I look forward to watching more of you x
@Brandon Goodman - I have not. I've only checked out the Liquor Store that is in the gas station across from the McDonald's on Route 60. They were outrageously priced! Is there some other places to check out in White Sulpher Springs?
Nice chat🤠👍☀🥃. Did you redecorate your bar? I like the western detail on the left shelf behind Tina👍. Have a wonderful week. I’m excited about your Thursday chat 😁
Your Calumet 16 is much better than KO confiscated if that is what you have. The BBC WV barrel co is good, tried it at distillery and purchased. Like everything you will get mixed thoughts on both. New Riff Distillery is just acrossed the river from Cincinnati definitely a fun stop and Party Source Liquor store is in the same parking lot. NR has mostly good to very good stuff but they are Single Barrels so if you don’t love what you picked up look around for the Balboa NR and try a few other bottles. Enjoy the hunt
Great comments and insight! I may be heading back to Beckley to see if they still have a bottle of the Calumet 16. The New Riff Distillery does sound like a good time. I might be heading up to Cincy in June, so hopefully I can check it out. You are correct, Single Barrels are different. Thanks for watching!
ohio state? I can't be your friend anymore. lol Those were some good-looking mushrooms. I have not had Old Grand Dad since College at OHIO U. It's amazing at all the brands out there, whiskeys, Rye's, Bourbon's, and other spirits. Whiskey Pig Blue Label, $309. Wow! Special occasion for sure. You need to carry a list on your phone of what you have on the shelf. You have so many bottles now. :) Rossville Union - BECOMING WHISKEY CITY: THE HISTORY OF LAWRENCEBURG AND AMERICAN RYE In 1802, just as whiskey consumption in America reached an all-time high, the small town of Lawrenceburg, IN appeared along the banks of the Ohio River. For decades, whiskey production had been thriving in Maryland, Pennsylvania, and, most recently, Kentucky. The next year, the Louisiana Purchase would expand trade into New Orleans, allowing distillers to ship barrels of whiskey to the West and South by steamboat. Within the next century, Lawrenceburg would become known as Whiskey City-the rye-distilling capital of the world. Looking back, the events surrounding Lawrenceburg’s birth seem almost serendipitous. America was rife with opportunity for whiskey distillers, especially those with access to the mighty Ohio River. (thanks google) lol I would have gone to a local bar and ordered a drink with Calumet. Then maybe go back. Secretariat - Big Heart, Big Wins! Keep it Squatchy!!
Hey! Thanks for the info on Rossville. That sounds like a great place to visit! I was born in Columbus, so I've always loved Ohio State. Thanks for the great comment!!
The Rossville is mgp's own rye whiskey. The newer bottle of it are aged stated at 7 years and are a solid rye. Outside of that I'd pass on it and wait until you fined the age stated ones
It’s tough for me to go above a $100 too. If I see something I am interested in over a $100 and am not sure I will listen to reviews online right in the store. Not just do they think it’s good but also do I think the flavor notes suite my palate. I recently passed up on a Discovery Series because I didn’t think the flavor notes would suite me.
I totally agree! The Bardstown stuff is so iffy. I liked the Discovery Series, but didn't like the Fusion that well. The West Virginia bottle looked very interesting but just had to pass at $165. I did, however, kick myself for not getting the Calumet. I got it! They now only have 3 left.
I thought so! You sent me a picture, right! You steered me in that direction. I'm seriously thinking about driving back this week to see if they have that Calumet for $149.
I asked one of my local stores to get some New Riff barrel proof. Unfortunately the owner brought in the 100 proof New Riff bourbon and rye. I picked up a bottle of the New Riff rye 100 proof and I do like it but I can imagine the barrel proof is much better.

@@FrontiersmanAdventures Nice, the calumet 16 is still great to try and something to savor, I was just a little let down at the price point. I find it to be much better than their 15 though so worth the money to jump up from that.
