- Here’s presenting the first part of the Bhutan Series Episode in Paro. I went straight to Paro as first part of my road trip in the country. The drive from Phuntsholing took about 4 hours.
The entire budget of my Bhutan trip was close to INR 25k. You can carry cash everywhere in Indian currency in Bhutan as it is accepted. Some things about Paro below:
1. The place where I stayed at in Paro is called Ama’s Village Lodge. You can book the place here - www.booking.com/s/32_8/e9f2a7ab
2. The cost of entry to Taktsang Goempa is INR 500 and a round trip with any driver will cost INR 1000 from your lodge
3. You can contact Mr. Yonten Norbu for driving you around Bhutan if you are visiting. His number is +975 17672515 , my experience with him was extremely nice. He was a perfect gentleman who ensured my safety and also made sure my experience in Bhutan was memorable.
4. If you are visiting Bhutan, I would highly advice you to get a local sim for contacting tour agencies or driver. A local sim will be available for INR 200 at Phuntsholing.
5. Other places that you can visit in Paro are - Paro Dzong and you can get a Hot Stone bath which is very popular in the area

If you are traveling in Bhutan. You are more safe then you can ever be. Even if you are alone or in group it's just the same.
If you do travel to bhutan, dont mind if some people stare. Its just because most arent used to seing foreigners.

in ancient days BODO MECHE and BHUTANESE were brotherhood, they called us as " Kurma " and we called them " Gonggar" ,. many BHUTANESE did come in our BODO MECHE's house as guest and dwelled for several days. some dwelled two three month also, They moved BODO village freely and bought "endi bitwb" ( a kind of worm nest). we think BHUTANESE are our brotherhood and relatives till today .

I'm an Indian, presently living in Bhutan. Bhutan to India is like Switzerland to Germany. Great weather, great scenery, great people. Also not to forget cheap petrol prices compared to India. The only thing I miss sometimes is Indian street food which is not widely available here in samdrup jongkhar.

@@huandanton4395 All tourists must pay US$250 per person per day (US$200 a day from December to February and June to August), with a US$40/30 surcharge per person for those in a group of one/two. This covers accommodation, transport in Bhutan, a guide, food and entry fees.
Possible extra charges include hot-stone baths, cultural shows, horse riding, rafting, mountain bikes and tips.
Children under 12 years are exempt from the royalty component (US$65).

veena vikraman Sir, July is a monsoon season and most places remain prone to road disturbances, but it totally depends upon which places you decide to tour. Weathers are pretty hot and humid in southern region but central should be treating you well with nice sunshine. Overall, if you don’t mind rain and lil road disturbances it should be a good trip.

I have been to Bhutan myself and the people are really kind💓. Everything is in order from the way people park their cars on the roadside till a single chips packets in the shops. The rivers are super clean and it's a great country. People should visit it💓

Hey Tanya recently I came to know about your vlogs it’s totally amazing and I also Love to travel, in 2012 I was travelling back from Shirdi Maharashtra to Lucknow an accident happened, in which I sustained multiple injuries, but the injury that changed my entire personality was the spinal cord injury. Technically, two vertebrae of my back bone T5 and T6 was completely crushed resulting whole body paralysis and I ended up with a 100% disabled person, however I am electrical engineer and teaching underprivileged under my NGO. Now I am very happy to tell you that you are inspiring me so much to travel again, All I want that please keep posting whether the place you visit is disable friendly or not.

We dont have a caste system and you can evidently feel it when u hear different surnames between husband n wife n children because we most Bhutanese doesnot have surnames other than our royal dynasty, which has its own paramount significance.

Bhutan is a beautiful country & its citizens are also humble. I m from INDIA and at Pune/Poona , where I studied Development Planning, we had a few Bhutanese students:: Dicchan Chosen, Pema Lauren and two humble Lamas. Pema once came to Ahmedabad, Gujarat, as t Tourist Guide and we met accidentally on the way.
