I leave the lip, glue the bottom Rail and Styles, Slide the glass in from the top, and install the Top Rail and secure it with two trim screws from the side. Its a much better look than glass clips on the interior and allows for replacement of broken glass by removing the trim screws.
Thanks for your comment, however, what about installing the mullions and doing a finish? Thanks, Wes
Pure genius. Great video Wes! Thanks

Hi...I actually have my glass custom sized at the glass store and glue them in with clear silicone. Thanks for watching, Wes

Thank you John...you are a great supporter! Wes
When you cut the 2nd cut on the sled , you started your cut and backed off and fine tuned your cut and finished the cut. Just thought you might want to explain why so folks that didn’t know why.
Yes...I was just fine tuning the cut. Thanks for watching, Wes
Educational, for sure. Makes me wonder how this process is done for a transome above french doors; would you make two and sandwich the glass between the two???
Yes...it could be done that way. Thanks for watching, Wes
Thank You So Much!
Glad it helped...I appreciate the comment. Wes

Measuring while the saw blade is running next to your hand? 😅
Great video always so informative...🤘🤘🤘
Thank you so much!! I appreciate the support, Wes
Very helpful video, well presented as usual.
How would you modify the technique if you wanted separate pieces of glass, for example to incorporate different types of decorative glass?
Hi...that is a great question and that can be done. It's a great suggestion for a future video and requires more of an explanation than just a reply, I will put it on the list. Thanks, Wes
@@WoodworkingWithWes Thank you Wes, I shall look forward to that. I was thinking in particular about one pane being bulls-eye glass but there are numerous other options.
great info
Glad it was helpful...thanks for watching, Wes
Nice looking door Wes, but I have a question. Could you not leave the the back lip on the stiles and rails, and insert the glass like a flat panel?
How would you replace broken glass?
@@lawrencepotter4070 Well, my glass cabinet doors are over 30 years old, and one has never been broken, However, if it became necessary I would build another door.
@lawrencepotter4070 you don't. You just replace the whole door. I've built a cabinet like that before and the customer and I agreed that I would just replace the door if it ever breaks. It's thick tempered glass so I was/am willing to take my chances. But yes, generally you wouldn't do that.
