I wouldn't have fallen in love with Hardcore the way I have without Keith & James. I owe everything to those 2. Keith was the vocalist on the best straight edge songs ever written.
Awesome interview! Always wondered what really happened with Epic and went wrong.. Keith is a phenomenal talent. Kudos Garza 🤘
Keith is the best. Huge influence. -garza
Bro that intro is so on point! 19 visions are my soul and Korn. My two of all time
Keith is the man, riffmaster, true inspiration, 18V rules!
Thanks for the great interview Chris ;-)
The breakdown in Tower of Snakes is one of the greatest of all time. Always loved these dudes
Great interview! 18V! One of my favorite bands of all time!
The guitar sound on "Obsession" is so amazing!
Keith is an incredible guitarist and songwriter.
Keep the interviews coming!
Omg. Eighteen Visions🤟🏾🤙🏾🤟🏾🤙🏾🖤🖤🖤 ode to the fire truck.
Ev is one of the greatest bands of all time. Undeniable. Way way way ahead of their time.
Wow, this is a fantastic interview. Garza is a talented conversationalist on top of shredding. Thanks for putting this out into the world!
Always wanted to hear perspective from Keith, I remember the footage on the 18v album or the obsession in the studio recording! Thanks Garza!
Two metalcore guitar legends having a bs session is so cool to watch, love this, not to mention both incredibly humble and friendly
This is amazing! Glad you got Keith Barney on the show. I hope you get Dave next I would love to hear his perspective on Throwdown now a days and what he's doing now.
Really great interview. As a long time 18v fan it was really good to hear these stories and see all the love for keith and this band. Loving the new material and hope they keep going.
OBSESSION! thank you Garza ❤🤘
This was such a great discussion, similarly, I grew up in the Orange County/IE hardcore scene. Throwdown was the band that got me into straight edge, The Drive Me Dead and then You Don't Have to Be Blood cds. The lyrics resonated with me and seeing them countless times live at Chain and Showcase are memories I still hold close. I've been edge for 20 years now and it's a value I've held close and credit with pushing me to land a career I love, build a family, and keeping me level headed. These podcasts are amazing, brings back so many memories and keeps the hardcore scene fire inside. I've moved to FL back in 2014, it's been cool seeing so many guests who help keep the scene alive. Keep up the great work, and thank you Keith for the open dialogue, and footprint you helped carve for the OC Straight Edge/ hardcore scene!
Amazing podcast. Vanity is one of my fav albums of all time. 18v were def ahead of their time. Seeing them in a cpl weeks in atlanta. Cant fucking wait!
Keith is one of best dudes…… I discovered straight edge at around 13 through Throwdown, Eighteen Visions, and Bleeding Through... For me it’s all about not doing drugs, drinking or smoking... I’ve lived by this for almost 22yrs.
The conversation flows so well. It doesn’t sound like an “interview” at all
I grew up in cali hardcore scene , keith is one of the nicest dudes ever.
Great interview. Looking forward to more episodes.
Throwdown was probably my favorite OCHC band from the mid 2000s, but Curlupanddie is a close second. They have a killer discography.
This Man is such a legend!!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Damn!!! Great episode and guest, I just discovered this podcast looking up old throwdown show from back in the day , I look forward to catching up on all episodes great job Garza
So much to unpack from this interview. I liked the parts where you all discussed the technical aspects of the guitar pedals and amps. I also liked how keith unraveled the history of 18v first breakup. Also it makes sense that i always loved 18 visions because a lot of the music and artistic expressions he mentioned are stuff i enjoy. One key take away and i can be wrong but it would be great to see keith engineer an album (i see similarities to him and machine). Great video!!! 1st time seeing your channel
Anything to show Eighteen Visions some love!
This was such an incredible conversation. Thank you for the thoughtful questions. Amazing.
Ayyye Garza glad to see you at it again!!!! Are you gonna have a clips channel soon? Or like a tik tok for podcast clips?
Yeah man! We already have a clips channel actually. Hope you can find it. -garza
Keith is so important to OC indie metal/hardcore. DONT FORGET HE WAS IN ADAMANTIUM TOO!
Just came across your pod from you commenting on your new song. Man you deserve more subs. This is good quality stuff here. Keep it up I look forward to more.
sick guest, love this dude. Maybe i missed it but you should have asked him about his time in death by stereo
Keith is the man
Loved 18V. Of all the shows I been to.. The only time I seriously injured myself in the pit was at 18V LOL 😂
Same. James did a front flip off stage and his boot connected to my face lol.
Acid bath best band .
To bad jest never heard acid bath.
This is dope as fuck. But also, the whole "Fashioncore" thing was meant to be a big ass joke to piss off all the east coast tough guys, and the poerviolence scene.
That's not true ate lest orunge county. Three were bands like acid bath and embodiment 1998.
