I let them be on the floor and certain walls, to blend it with the aquascape. The front glass however is kept spotless. They are not that bad. Utilise Nitrates and give out Oxygen too.

I have my planted tank in my living room. Its gets ambient light from windows from 10:00am - 17:00pm. I turn on my light at 16:00 - 22:00. I turn on my Co2 at 15:00 - 21:00. Tank is less than 2 months old. I now have slight brown algae(i think diatoms). How should i adjust my lighting and Co2 as i cant avoid the ambient light and i prefer my light on be on in the evening as this is my viewing time. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Im battling brown diatom algea and a little stri g algea the tanks been running for a month now work away from home and only get tho do maintenance once a week just added a pleco ,tge plants came with snails who are just coming out and ill be planning on adding shrimp some time next weekend
Because diatoms only settle to the bottom, it is easy to clean up a brown algae problem; No need to clean. This type of algae does not adhere strongly to tank surfaces and can be easily wiped off. Simply wipe down any decorations that may have been affected by the tank, wipe down all surfaces inside the tank, and then vacuum the gravel.
My tank has been up for well over a year and the brown diatoms keep coming back. The diatoms starts killing my plants if I don't constantly wipe them off. I'm going crazy, it's completely annoying!
@@zunikizunikilaloo4477 not all rainwater is like that. If it is for you, you’ll need to add a supplement to get it to the desired levels. If it’s that clean it will help
I'm getting what I believe is brown algae just in the filter of my tank. Has anyone got any tips for that? I am going to try feeding my fish less. But I've really tried everything else at this point. Any help from anyone would be appreciated 😊
If it’s just in your filter we call that filter muck. It’s actually not bad to have - it’s consuming nutrients. Just clean on your usual schedule. If everything is good I would worry about it
If your tank decorations are coated with brown algae, soaking them in a bleach solution every few weeks will help. They'll need to be rinsed thoroughly with water or soaked in water for a few hours to neutralize the bleach before putting them back in the tank.

Sounds like a tank getting into its cycle. It’s a struggle at first. If it’s unmanageable after a few months - I would look at your source water
Will cherry shrimp and mystery snails be good options too?
They should be okay. Mystery snails are known for consuming cherry shrimp that are sick or dying only
@@AquariumStoreDepot ok thank you!
Great thanks
You are welcome
Beautiful
Thank you
How many snails would you recommend for a 55 gallon tank?
Depends on the type of snail and your bioload and plants you have

Yes, that's correct. It's one of the easiest nuisances to deal with. It's also one of the most talked about.
In my tank on plats a brown dust has been accumulated what should i do?
How new is the tank?
Also daphnea eat diatoms and they are something nitritious for the fish to hunt.
Thank you for bringing that up. Good food source as well and brings up way microfauna is good to have in a tank
What about using Microbe-Lift Algaway 5.4?

Slilicate remover is the best way bcz i have use it once and its work

There are much better solutions available sir. Why risking fish life for algae?
All you need is 1 way to get rid of it. nerite snails!!!! 20 gallon long with 3 nerite snails cleaned it all up in 1 week.
Nerites are the best snails to get imo. They are unable to reproduce in freshwater tanks
Mine died in 2 weeks :(
@gezaerdelyi4476 mine are still alive. Sorry to hear that.
Just remember to clean up their poop
Hydrogen peroxide worked for me!!
How did you the hydrogen peroxide? Someone told me about it but said you can’t do it with snails in the tank but we have snails in the tank
