- Home Affairs is yet to comply with a court order instructing it to release blocked identity documents on suspicions of fraud. The court found that the department did not follow proper procedure and, therefore, it was unlawful. Close to 700,000 IDs have been affected.

You know it is sometimes not as easy. In a case of a true South African ID, it is blocked because a foreigner has that ID. While the foreigner having the South Africans ID they first need to trace the foreigner with that ID and the South African will have to go through channels of going to they primary schools at the age of 40/70 to go get some kind of proof that the South African was indeed at that school. Is just a mess and a very lengthy thing to get the ID unblocked. SUI was still investigating in the process, I think, to get to the bottom of these fraudulent IDs. I hope those home affairs officials must rot in jail for selling this country.

Indeed, there is. SIU must play quickly to arrest those with these fraudulent ID'S There are 100 thousand foreigners sitting with South African citizens' IDs. South Africans' lives are at standstill with having a foreign person as them.
Many of them are duplicates. More that one person sharing the same ID number. Something is up.
In case of duplication one victim is an innocent sa citizen whose particulars are fraudulently used by a foreigner & a corrupt dha official thus the blocking affected our dear sa brother or sister together with the foreigner. So the truth is most sa citizens id's are blocked on the process

Yesterday I was at Orlando home affairs going to check the results about my blocked ID since I produced all my documents that they asked me to bring, I go to counter no7 that man say sorry they still busy with it and he don't know for how long after we go and ask for help to one of the lady I think they are the one that are in charge to check the problems that we are facing with our ID book or birth certificate and she is the one helped me I explain that is now 8 months now since I produced my documents that they asked but even they said is still on the investigate while we find out that man is lying my documents they were never been submitted I have to start afresh they take my finger print again no no home affairs people they don't do they are work really

What I have seen is about block id, but mine is twine ID and the person who used it. I know him, but I can not open a case against him. I made my id 1997 and their made his id 2007 using all my information, id number, name surname and date of birth
