I’m at the stage in life, where, places like Hawaii aren’t exotic enough, for me. However, I thoroughly enjoy ALL your videos, Gabe. You’re all that Rick Steves ever hoped to be.😂
I've traveled a lot but never went to Hawaii. I saw quite a few videos on those islands. I plan to visit at least once. I think the best island for a first-time visitor would be Maui. Continue your good work, Gabriel
It was so wholesome seeing Secret Beach and Kapaa again. Been to Kaua'i once right at the beginning of 2020, go figure. I'll be sharing that saga on my channel. Much love to the OG youtube travel vlogger bro
Hi Gabriel, there must be a way of getting around with a scooter or bike rental to make your week easy. You are going to exhaust yourself in that humidity it's taxing on the body. You know you love going to Hawaii regardless of how expensive it is even without a ride.
I'm surpriced that you did not visit the COCO PALMS. You must not be a Elvis fan as I am LOL. I celebrated my 50th in Maui and my 55th in Kauai and m 60th in Honolulu. Yes, visited all the famous spots including had to touch that grande door to the concert place that where Elvis did perform that Aloha 1973 concert. Went to Pearl Harbor rented Harley to ride around the island etc etc seen it all. Now, no more Hawaii only Mexico so Viva Mexico, those Hawaii'en days are over. Nothing stays the same as they say. We get old if we live long enough and then we still die so Viva La Vida and Viva Mexico.
My hunch confirmed. Be a pauper in HI or middle class in MX or India or even parts of Europe... I almost can feel the vibes through video... more stress , more vetting the options, more analyzing...HI is $$$$....hell on natives and hell on budget travelers.
Aloha Gabriel, the place looks similar to where I live in Queensland Australia, both places expensive, both places rains a lot. $57.00 for a bag or groceries, it's too much. Enjoy the rest of your stay.
Youve got the Charleton Heston look going Gabe, just part the waves, LOL. Great series . I try not to miss a video, except the ones from Canada. I live in Canada, lol.
This is the time of year (next month for sure) that the surf competitions are happening on Oahu North Shore, monster waves at Waimea and Sunset, smart not to venture too far out, the rip tides can be dangerous in the winter, maybe if you had a wrist strap for the camera.
Sounds like you didn’t have fun in Hawaii. Expensive food, expensive rides, food choices are limited. Must have a car to get around but cost an arm and a leg, rough beaches not really swimmable. Mexico misses you
As far as surfing 🏄 goes If you have a longboard it’s easier to catch waves compared to those short boards .. I went surfing with a short board once in La Jolla California I cound not catch a wave to save my life
Gabriel are you coming to Poipu area too ? I have to walk around to see if I can see you some where to say hi . You come here often but not being able to say hi , I been watching your videos for long time .
It is expensive everywhere now. Kauai seems to have options for camping / budget travel for long term stays. I am trying to find an affordable but also dog friendly place to move. Woo ... I was curious about food prices, eating out is outrageous, not sure Hawaii is the place for me but it sure is beautiful.
I wish that he had given the prices of the foodstuff that he bought. Years ago a friend who visited Hawaii said that the price of a gallon of milk was $11. Can't Hawaii raise cattle for milk production instead of importing it? Hawaii imports 90% of its food from the mainland USA so no wonder it is so expensive. Farmers need land but land prices are high and farm laborers have to be brought in from other countries. Not many dairies are left and egg and pig farms have closed.
You can get a pretty affordable plate lunch at Waipouli Deli in the strip mall next to the Safeway, head south behind McDonald's. Also, Wailua Drive Inn just about 1/4 mile south of you, or at Super No1 at Haleilio road and the Hwy. It's a 1/2 mile from where you are toward your hotel, for next time you're in the area. You should have taken us grocery shopping with you. My wife embarrasses me by screaming "$2.99/lb for an onion!" 🤣🤣
Hey Gabe, I'm just wondering if you could tell us how you reset your sleeping schedule when you fly between time zones that are so far apart? Hawaii is 2-4 hours behind Mexico, so how did you fix your sleeping schedule so quickly?? Just wondering!
Various issues, trust is definitely one. Also people don't feel like having a stranger in their car, don't want to talk with someone, maybe the car is full, they aren't going very far, or they are going a ways but don't know how far you're going and don't want to commit to taking you with them when they don't know if they'll enjoy your company, etc. But waiting 15 or 30 minutes isn't bad, in many other places in the US and around the world you might wait for hours or even days.
The answer to the title of this video is a resounding NO. You should have known that though, so I don't feel sorry for you. Hawaii is a blue state, nothing more need be said.
I , I , I -- beaches are beaches. More helpful to talk about hotel names prices ,transport and sights etc to help other budget travellers.thats I reason I watch travel blogs.

Your a amazing person thanks for the videos
Gabe, this was one of your most genuine pieces of art! Niiice work, man!
Dude $57 for half a bag of groceries? That is harsh.
A bag of groceries could be any price. You should reference the contents not the bag
Here in Hawaii, a gallon of milk is $6 and a gallon of orange juice is $10. Things can add up when everything is imported.
Hawaii is so beautiful!! Thanks for the videos Gabe.
it's the best.

It's possible, not sure yet.

I remember the bus being freezing cold because of air conditioning. But that was Oahu.
Exact same thing on Kauai, very annoying.

Very cool, I'd love to give him a high five and buy him a beer.
That restaurant's ridiculously expensive. You'd be better off buying some food than taking it back to your room.
Direct flight to Manila Gabrial I’ve been there back in the 90s maybe 🤔 your next destination?
Gabe---are there car dealerships on this island or do you have to go over to Oahu to buy a new car?
I'm sure Google can give you an answer in a few seconds
Yes, there are car dealerships on Kauai. However, vehicles are a bit cheaper on Oahu.

Lots of people depending on the island. You may not have fun if you’re alone but if you go with friends you can have lots of adventures there.
