Greetings from Australia. Lads we'll never forget your sacrifice. Your courage in the face of death. Your pain when you lay hurt. Your last thoughts of your loved ones you left behind. The freedom we enjoy today. Lest we never forget those great men.
I was in Normandy, France during the 50th reunion and met many Troopers who landed on the Point and other Beaches! Stood and spoke to many hearing their stories. It was in the sight of true Hero's!
You got it wrong on what ship did the shelling to help the RANGERS. The USS SATTERLEE DD626 left before the Rangers could scale the cliffs, as they where late and the ship departed at it's designated time. The USS ELLYSON DD454 came in and got the job done! My father was on the Ellyson and also told me this story. ( Ellyson arrived at Plymouth, on 22 May 1944 for last-minute preparations for the invasion of France. On 6 June she covered the Army Ranger assault on Pointe du Hoc to knock out the heavy gun emplacements reported there. On 25 June she saw action off Cherbourg, blasting gun installations, destroying naval mines, and laying a smoke screen for larger fleet units.)
God bless all of you in the ranger battalions who served in D-Day your sacrifice in your efforts will not be forgotten long live the US army rangers in Jesus name I pray amen 🙏🙏🙏
Shame the Allies did not tell the millitary that the big guns were not there they were moved by the Germans which the french resistance had informed the poloticians so waisted lives and the efforts placed upon the alter of freedom by the rangers, not to negate the courage of the Rangers but it was uneccesary.grappling hooks failed as they got wet and heavier also the naval pilots on the landing craft ferrying the Rangers went to the wrong point first thus warning the germans to the objective. this caused a higher casualty rate on the rangers who evetually found the guns in a field some half mile inland and then used the buncker complax to resist the german counter attack for almost 3 days the rangers were releived by troops who broke through at omaha
No Mr. President Reagan. The Germans were not shooting down onto the Raiders with machine guns. They wouldn’t even drop their ready ammunition on top of the Raiders heads.
Excellent, the greatest generation who are now probably rolling over in their graves with what has happened to America. RIP
I'm deeply saddened for those that remain alive today thinking to themselves in their sunset years, "It was all for not"

Beautifully said, thank you. Merry Christmas Australia!
EXCELLENT video, It pays tribute to the heroes who were willing to pay the ultimate sacrifice.
I met one of the 90 guys remaining while I was administrator at the VA nursing facility in Fayetteville, Arkansas. His name was Denman Wolfe.
Thanks for mentioning the name of that heroe. Semper Fi. Greetings from Mexico City.
Never will be forgotten
We can never allow or afford their bravery and sacrifice to be forgotten.
I remember President Reagan going there in 1984, barely an adult I felt pride for Reagan and these men
God Bless ALL service heroes that fought, died and lived, men & women for freedom and peace . Their sacrifice was for a purpose ❤❤🇺🇸

wow, my old dear friend "Tommy" Antonio Ruggerio is in this video, RIP "Tommy" a great friend and a great human being, he passed away in 2016
The new VA med clinic in Toms River, NJ will be named after Len Lomell, Toms River being his home town.
I've read the book that Lem Lummel wrote about Point De Hoc. Its a fantastic book, it gives you insight into the Ranger world.
What they did was amazing.
The video itself would be much more enjoyable, if whoever posted this could somehow increase the volume of the sound track.
There may have been great men, but there has never been better
My father was a Field Artillery officer in the 44th Field Artillery, 4th ID, and he landed on D -Day. I have his maps of Utah Beach
The attack on the 88mm telegraph poles. The real section of 88mm 105mm etc was a few miles further inland but they still had a terrible time of it.

Right yet it sure made for great history
I believe they ended up finding those guns though. They used thermite grenades to destroy them.
RIP. 🙏🏽👍
A great doc narrated by Ducky …. lol
These were extremely brave men. Thank God for them. Thank God the nazis were defeated.

GOTTA GIVE CREDIT TO THE CIGARETTE COMPANIES DURING WW2 !!! In every sea ration and field ration had a little pack of 4 non filter smokes !!
Turn the music off. It's too loud and distracting
