Haha. Love these old tractors. I am a farmer from Western Australia and we run two 9400’s alongside two 9430’s for seeding and deep ripping. For 20+ year old tractors they work all year and for about two months they pull air seeders over 45 000 acres.
A farm just up the road from us runs a John Deere 9620T. They use it for tillage and putting in drain tile. Always liked this style from Deere, 4wd or tracked model. Really cool video Jason.
Really enjoy watching the videos takes me back when I was just a farmhand driving tractors and long hours sitting in the drivers seat, retired now and I get to see them in action. Crops out and just waiting on spring to get here and see tractors and equipment in the field !
In Argentina, at the end of the 70's John Deere introduced the 4730 and 4930 tractors. In 2008 sprayers with the same model number were introduced. But in this case the times did not coincide.
78’ Ford I remember the first versatile tractor I saw. I was just a kid but was amazed and said I’d own one some day. I now in my 40’s’ and still don’t have one, but I will before I hang it up and retire.
Jason,These 9000 Series tractors were introduced in 1996.At he same time the 7210-7810 & the 8000T tractors were. The only new JD tractor I can recall from the fall of 1995 was the 5500
Maybe that's a silly question, but what's the difference between a big disk and a plow? Regular plowing has fallen out of fashion in many places, but it seems disks are still a valuable tool. To my armchair engineer's eye, the effect and working method looks quite similar.
I remember the first time I saw one of these in georgia. It was hooked to a KMC 12 row ripper-bedder set on 36"rows. It had plenty of hp for the job but didn't work too well with a load on the 3 point hitch it wouldn't track straight.
The 9400 is a very cool tractor and one of my all time favorites. It’s a bit out of my price range for collecting right now but I would like to own one someday.

I love these big tractors. True workhorses. I also love being early to a bigtractorpower video!

Very cool operation. Thank you for sharing.
I spent several years on a 9400 pulling 18x14 John Deere dirt pans. Such an awesome tractor.
Very cool.
Love the old school John Deere. TY for sharing
The 9400 really put Deere 4wds on the map.
one of their most iconic tractors imo
Versatile of that era is better though...

The sound of my childhood. The tractor I learned on
Very cool. The 9400 was a monster when it was introduced.
Same.
As a big farm tractor enthusiast, John Deere 9400 is my favorite !!! 👍🏻
The 9400 is one of my all time favorites as well.
Found memories of spending a season on a 9400 in Australia! Nice video!!
Very cool.
Awesome video like the tractor
Both 9400's are great machines😁👍
even though it looks like heavy stubble that disc ripper seems to be doing a great job of chopping up and incorporating the residue. Nice video

Another Goodman Farms tractor here on Central Illinois. Thank you for the video!
😁👍👍. Thank you. Great machines to feature.
Very nice and precise explanation.
Thank you for watching.
That was pretty interesting that John Deere use the same model number for both the tractor and combine
It is good John Deere Trivia.
They also had a drill with the same model number
Great job, Guy.
Thank you for watching.
I just love these older JD 4wd's. They are just tough looking.
The 9400 is one of the greats.

I love this tractor, the early 2000 John Deere's just look really good. GREAT VIDEO! Also I would like to see some Steigers and Big Buds
And some Versatiles too

Great video.
Awesome Video!!
😁👍👍
I think John Deere also had a 9400 drill on offer in the 1990s. So even 3 machines with the same model number!
You are right. 👍👍
That's definitely a beaut Clark 👍
😁👍👍

I saw this video until the end, very interesting to watch, keep working friends!

No GPS back then.
My farm has a 9400 exactly like this
More power 😁💪👍
Mr B T P do you think could be your next tractor

Love the videos this one was awesome and helpful I was thinking that j d made a combine and a tractor with the same model number
The 9400 and 9400 is good John Deere Trivia to know. 😁👍
Love BIG Tractors 🚜, man the field has a lot of trash in it.
😁👍👍
I first saw a new 9400 at the 1997 Empire Farm Days
😁👍👍. I attended that Empire Farm Days too.
Still can’t imagine my pops disking with a John Deere 2020 with ten foot disk on 90 acres lol
That is a lot of hours.
Or a JD A with a single 8' disk in 40 acre field? been there, done that.. in the 50's.
That's not bad, done it 10 years ago (ok, it was more then double the size and it were 2 tractors with very similar specs)
Have 2,-9570RX’s, 2-9570R’s, a 9570RT, 9520RX, 9520RT, and 9470RX on the farm i work on.
Impressive line up. What do you use the RTs and the RXs for?

My favorite 🚜 as a kid. I would buy one just to cut my grass lol
😁👍👍
We pull a 40foot 1895 air drill with our 9400
😁👍👍
👍👍
😁👍
Had an ertl toy of this tractor
The 1/16 Ertl 9400 was a big release as a collectors edition. The 1/64 9400 was the first Ertl 4wd on triples.
9410R with Horsch terrano
Very cool. The Terrano is a nice tillage implement.
I want the tractor in fs19 for xbox one
The 9400 would look good on FS.
@@bigtractorpower i know its on pc idk if the same model as on the video but it pc only. Thanks for the reply
