I like Power Maul and Combi-Melta because that's what was good in KT-18 when I built the mini...

Played my first game with Ecclesiarchy against a real opponent today and kinda wanted to revisit this with the eyes of experience.. Since it was my first time, we didn't bother with ploys, /but/ if I'd had Divine Intervention at my disposal I could totally have flipped one moment in the game. A custodes on 5 wounds (thanks to judicious application of melta and heavy-bolter fire) charged my sister superior. I failed to roll a crit, which would have let me take him out before he killed me. However, if I'd had Divine Intervention, I could have tanked the initial hit, and even if he parried, I'd finish him with a followup swing.
I think that's one of the strongest applications - flipping the tempo of Melee. You thought you were charging my repentia, when in reality she was charging you.
As it stood, the custodes ended up on one wound, and I realized the most reliable way to kill him was to charge in and bash him to death with a bolter's gun butt. Which was a very surreal moment for me. I even managed to tie the game in the end.

Sounds like you had a great game Alec! I do think the Compendium sisters still have play :)

I think that when considering an Ecclessiarchy roster, one need consider whether one's playing a narrative campaign or matched play. Arco-Flag. are a handicap in many missions, but there are two matched play missions where there is no need to make an objective-related action. Narrative missions have even more scenarios in which Arco-Flag. can shine. In these missions, I think I would take Arco-Flag. over Repentia when facing any team with 8+ models.

Interesting perspective. I take the point about missions without actions needing to be done, but I think saying you would take them in any mission where you opponent has more than 8 models is strong.

The heavy flamer looks like a good pick for the into the dark maps where the spaces are tighter, no vantage points and the lethal effect on torrent weapons. I'm looking hard now between this team and the novitiates. Played a game each and I just had way more fun with the basic sisters team - I lost terribly on my second game with the novitiates, but deffo felt like I wasn't taking full advantage of all their tricks. Watching all your vids on the matter to try to understand what's the deal with that.

Basic sisters are a fun and robust team. 10 Power armored girls! They just lack a lot of the tricks of newer teams. I could update some of these older videos to reflect into the dark, but yeah a heavy flamer can be a good pick in that situation!

New to all this stuff. I don't find Ecclesiarchy team to buy. Do you use the normal 40k minis of the sisters to make up a team?

Great question, so this is quite an old video, Ecclesiarchy are one of the teams from Kill Team Compendium which was a book launched when Kill Team first came out listing teams made up of normal 40k minis. They are generally regarded to be less powerful, and have less interesting mechanics then the 'bespoke' (Kill Team Branded) teams that came out later. Honestly, I wouldent invest in a Compendium Kill Team right now.

@@TabletopImpulse Thanks for the answere. Well I won't be playing competetive. Just thought that since I allready have 6 Sisters I could simply fill them up to form a team. Maybe something to get into the game or just haveing a second team without investing to much.
