There's a brief moment at 5:00 where you say "everything just turned into love." This really stood out for me in this video. I would love to know more about that since most non duality discussion seems very intellectual, and I haven't seen many statements like that one.
It was one of those extraordinary glimpses when consciousness drops away and . . . (this is hard to describe) but the entire landscape of water and hills and trees and the sky were clearly an appearance (rather than real) and that appearance was the stuff of love . .. matter was love. There was nothing other than love with no witnessing awareness and the love itself had no awareness. When the glimpse ended I did of course try to get it back. Futile! And of course I had thought I was getting somewhere because of the glimpse. But no-one gets anywhere because this is it already and there is no-one anywhere and so neither the intellect nor loving feelings have any meaning within the appearance at all! Although love is the fullness aspect when it is said that Everything is 'empty fullness'. Everything is empty of the reality mankind ascribes to it yet the appearance is full of unconditional love. Because it is unconditional, it's unconditional wild chaos. Mankind's attempt to try to have everything loving or believing we are evolving to find love and meaning is the mind's attempt to give itself meaning. It's another futile search. It's already love appearing exactly as it is.

It’s interesting to me that even radical nondual speakers tend to have had an experience that was a peek at a nondual view. Typically these experiences are of no separate self/ego dissolution and/or everything is love. Tony had his walk in the park, Richard Sylvester had his experience at the train station, Jeff Foster had an experience looking at a chair, Adyashanti stood up and left his self behind, etc. Things tend to return to normal except in rare cases like Suzanne Segal’s. They then assume that the glimpse they had was real, and the relative view is illusory rather than considering that both are just different perspectives of the same phenomena. Maybe the flow state (in the seeing, just the seen and no seer) is somewhere between the two extremes?
Yes! I well remember Suzanne Segal's story and my guru (employer) at the time informing her she was enlightened when in actual fact she had a brain tumour. And yes . . . it does become the projected reality. And you can have gurus and people telling you that you are enlightened and that can really add to the whole validation.

Just came across your channel and I really liked this UA-cam both for the content and the production! I especially liked the Cube metaphor - really good! If I may add, self-referrent models lead to paradoxes which the brain can't handle yet there they are. Eg the sentence "This sentence is false". Godel used a similar mathematical equation to show math is inconsistent or incomplete. Or the Set of sets that don't include themselves. Should that Set include itself or not? My point is that I guess the human equivalent could be "I am not". Nothing further can be said.

Likewise, "I am not", initially is absurd. But the real paradox is that it can be understood (as we're not the Mind) yet here we are (again!). Even the paradox is a paradox (of the strangeloop kind). Crazy absurd beautiful.
I love that book, I’m on my third reading. Anyone who likes this series of videos or who has an interest in nonduality, you need to read the book Read this Faerie tale and die. It’s genuinely brilliant. It’s just so unexpected and engaging, and the way non duality perspectives and pointers are threaded into the story to be uncovered is great fun and if smugness arises, snugness arises... Trust you, read it. 😀

Hi Jain! The brain appears along with everything else. In some teachings consciousness from the brain is considered the foundation of all, or the real you. This non-duality suggests there is no you and nothing that is eternal, 'just this' or 'what is' has no-one in it and no-one to discover it. It is gorgeously different from a 'you' with an awareness who needs to realise something or realise your true self. Just 'what is' and nothing behind it.
Whether there is realisation that there is no pilot, or a sense that there is a pilot , either way it ends up being the same thing because there is only what is happening.

Like you also most of the times forget this fact of nondual nature of being a human being or there is a difference but only in appearance (realization as a phenomenon)? If it's not the latter then what's the difference between a genuine nonduality teacher and a nueroscientist claiming "there is no pilot"? Wouldn't it be like a philosophy then?

i don't quite see why the idea of consciousness is wrong - obviously i have my own thoughts, and another person has their own. my thoughts are perceptible to only me - how do you explain this innate separation? to me this is explained by each person having their own consciousness. I don't hear your thoughts, I don't percieve the exact sensory signal of your vision, because I'm not you.
"what is", to me, is ultimately just what I see, hear, think, etc. Why can't it be that there are things that are real, that exist, outside of that? like it denies the existence of things you don't see, denies the experience of others, etc

I'd say it is a brain process ( a function or a verb rather than a noun) and not an ethereal bubble linked to a divine consciousness that will be somewhere that you'll float to when you die. As to your mention of 'what is' yes I'd agree. However . . . one can lean too far into the right hemisphere . . . and it can seem like 'what is appearing' is all there is. I have (only very recently) changed how I'd put this. I was leaning too far right (along with a bunch of other radical non-dualists). It's a lovely view but I'd now say it is half a view. Half the brain sees in terms of wholeness and 'just Thisness', it can't divide anything. The other side . . the side we normally are sick of and want a reprieve from because it divides and labels means we go searching for a sense of wholeness. We tend to look for it with gurus and such and all along in it's the brain as a view we already have. My most recent videos point to the change in how I'd put this.
So now what? I guess I’m still a me, but it all seems so meaningless, but I still get hungry, scared, tired, want to obviously veg out on UA-cam. But it started to feel so translucent. Like nothing really means anything. Just agreed upon labels. Even I am don’t feel real anymore. Like if I really look, what the F am I? I don’t know! I never did. I just assumed I knew and never looked. Same with everything. I don’t really know anything. It’s like its all just a story. Like these videos. Just people making stuff up and everyone agrees without every checking to see if its true. Like how did I ever come to the conclusion I was an individual? Like the trees are my lungs, the water is my blood, the plants my body lol. Even in the story, I am the earth. It’s like I don’t want to see it, but I can’t not see it. What the F do I do now? If I’m not real at least in any way that can be defined. It seems absurd to do anything aside from just do whatever seems pleasing in the moment. Can you shed any light? In the meantime, guess I’ll keep watching 😂
Yes! Hungry, scared and tired is Wholeness. You've never been you, you aren't even you now . . . there's only Wholeness. Who knows what will happen? No-one . . not even Wholeness. Wholeness doesn't recognise you, it doesn't know anything . . . it just is Wholeness. The conclusion of being an individual occurs (in the story) of you at about two when the neocortex concludes it is a self. Wonderful fiction creating the sense of twoness. And that sense of twoness is just an illusion and yet that illusion is also wholeness at the same time. No need to do anything. Does your left knee wonder what to do now? No. Only the apparent brain, functioning as a story teller may or may not maintain the function of fictional story telling. Whatever appears, is wholeness. Pleasing, displeasing . . . whatever. Wholeness is so free anything can appear.

So the whole of it is like the Great Story and we have all these little subplots going. Basically creating me as I go along. Then the other night I woke and couldn’t go back to sleep and I found myself recalling events as if I were literally telling a story to some one. It occurred to me that this was like a computer doing a back up. Basically reaffirming my story so as to keep it more fresh and solid! Like if I didn’t, I may actually forget who I am! At times it so obvious and at others I feel like I’m losing my mind

That's right. Ramana sent no-one out. Papaji sent loads of people out (many equating themselves with jesus and all sorts of nonsense) and those people sent all manner of people out and from there came the tenuous sense of a lineage. The point missed is that there is no such thing as enlightenment . . . . and pointing to consciousness as a divine source when that's the very illusion creating duality is astonishing! The even bigger discovery is how everything is nothing . . . and everything is an appearance only. So no Ramana . . . and no lineage. It reminds me of the story in No Self No Problem by Chris Niebauer where the author talks about the Pirahã tribe. A missionary went to the tribe to teach them about Jesus and convert them to Christianity. The tribe listened but as they asked questions about what Jesus looked like and found out that not only had the missionary not ever met Jesus but in fact no-one had actually met Jesus they dismissed Christianity as useless. There is no Ramana. There is no lineage. There is no you or me . . . . just 'what is'. But clearly from the comment this non-duality is not of interest. No rudeness needed. Enjoy the non-duality you like.
