My wildcard prediction for Metroid 6: You know how Quiet Robe seemed to (maybe)somehow take control of his body back from the X-Parasite at the end of Dread? One of the infected Mawkin Soldiers who escaped the planet on the missing Hanubia ships is going to manage to do the same thing. Instead of the X controlling the host, the host will control the X. This means we'll get a real genuine Mawkin as a proper villain for the sequel instead of just being a footsoldier for the X.
I find it interesting that in the prologue of Dread the logo of the company that created the EMMIs is shown, but nothing is mentioned about them in the entire game. I hope that future games will show more of their work creating weapons, being able to create other EMMIs and dealing more in depth with Samus's relationship with the galactic federation.
The next Metroid game should be about a conflict between Samus and the Galactic Federation as the federation tries to capture Samus in order to extract her Metroid DNA and attempt to continue the Metroid Breeding Program from Fusion. One of the lead villains could be the mysterious "Colonel" from Other M who's become a major figurehead within the federation.
As much as I love metroid and pray for a continuation through the core series. Have you considered the upcoming Prime 4 Beyond in relation to an upgrade prediction or wish list?
I like to think that at the end of Dread, a clone of Samus that Ravenbeak was teasing had survived and is carrying out his will. I always enjoy an evil Samus.
The X mimics of chozo definitely escaped zdr. Quiet Robe being able to reassert his consciousness through the X mimic implies that the near extinct chozo and the X could reach some level of symbiosis between eachother, which I find very exciting. On top of that, Adam knew about Samus's Metroid powers when Samus got back to the ship. Was he silently scanning Samus from afar while Raven Beak pretended to be Adam, or did Raven Beak hack Adam's program to communicate through him? Is Raven Beak's consciousness now implanted in Adam's program like a virus? I would like to see a plot about Samus trying to rid herself of the Metroid DNA, but she can't do that as long as X parasites continue to exist.
I find that Metroid: Other M was highly underrated. Mixing 2D and 3D mechanics in one game was ambitious and would probably work better with today’s technology.
would've worked fine with that gens tech if they put more thought it, and some better english versions voice direction and translation among many other things. The game could have been great, it was horrible execution that killed it not a bad premise.
Would love another 3d 2d mix. But done well with actual metroidvania gameplay and not whatever other m was. The story wasn't that bad in Japanese. I played it and whenever a cutscene came out I stopped and opened youtube to watch in Japanese and god that was a way better experience
I really hope Exelion Star Corp becomes a major antagonist. Their mechs could actively give Samus some trouble and I'm all for fighting some out of control super robots made in the image of her past foes and new ones. The EMI were just the beggining and Exelion is the only weyland yutani reference Metroid has seen. Exelion also being the house of corruption within the Galactic Federation just connects with the likes of .....other m, AND Fusion! Exelions definitely has major potential in the future of the series. (Also whether it's plot device or used like dmcs devil trigger. I love Samus' new Metroid powers and those are also speculatively limitless on ideas.)
I know some have mentioned Quiet Robe being able to retain control after being mimic'd by the X-Parasite. But I would point out that like Metroids being inspired by Facehuggers from Alien, X-Parasites are inspired by the organism from The Thing. In those movies the Thing doesn't know it is a mimic and very much acts within the nature of the original host. At least until it naturally through instinct wishes to spread. Even though Quiet Robe's mimic helped Samus, it eventually would have sought her destruction and sought to spread itself to other organisms. Any infected Mawkin that escaped would likely do the same. Only keeping their intelligence and memories for as long as it takes to get to a populated planet.
It's hard being a Nintendo fan.... They have so many beautiful series like Metroid, StarFox, Pikmin, F-Zero, etc. All of which are terribly neglected outside of Mario, Zelda, Kirby, and Pokémon!!!!
The ships being used to escape could work. But if the purpose of the X Parasites are to spread and take over, then why would they wait when the planet is about to explode when they could've already been conquering other planets? As for the mysterious Chozo with the staff on Hanubia, that's most likely Raven Beak. The silhouette doesn't look like him, but remember, there is an image of Samus draining Raven Beak's energy, and she doesn't have an arm cannon. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't touch on Samus' Metroid abilities. People thought that Metroid 5 was going to have Samus being a fugitive, because Metroid Fusion leaves us with what ifs. But in Metroid Dread, this isn't even addressed. Metroid Dread probably ended the way it did to show what Samus has become, and Metroid 6 probably won't go into further details.
I hate that you're probably right. The figure having a cannon pretty much solidifies it as raven beak. Though samus new powers can create a 2D version of hypermode. They'll absolutely use her new powers

I don't see Samus as being the "Last Metroid". The X-Parasite to me took the vestiges of the Metroid DNA from her, returning her to full human - it was their main prey after all. That would also tie into "The end of the Metroid story" as there is no more Metroids, and no more DNA. That being said I don't believe that either, Metroid 4 showed a lot of hatched eggs...

I don't think we've seen the last of people attempting to create clones of Metroids and using Metroid dna as bioweapons. Just that, I think the main focus is on the E.M.M.I project now. We could still see Metroid clones and Metroid dna misuse come up in Metroid 6 and later. That just won't be the main focus anymore is all. It's possible that we might see people attempting to fuse EMMIs with Metroid dna, X dna, or somehow, even both. Metroid stuff in Metroid isn't done, Metroid dna just isn't only focus of dangerous threats anymore now that we're see more of the X and now the new EMMI project thing. Plus now know there are surviving Chozo out there too. I personally view this new saga as more of a drastic expansion of lore than the explicit end of an important part of the lore altogether. Basically just a whole new chapter of the story where we're being introduced to more threats besides Metroid kind. Don't forget that Samus is still Metroid now at point! And I definitely think the Metroid dna in her is gonna take over completely eventually given how far she's come in Dread compared to Fusion. So much more has been opened up for Samus' adventures and the stakes are so much higher for Samus now!
