I bought this around the time that it came out and have been waiting for a review from people I typically follow for a while. Thank you!!! I thought it sounded good, but it's always nice to hear someone else's opinion with another voice (: That and purchase validation of course c: I'm glad the testing went well from someone who knows more about this stuff than me :D
Lewitt seems too bright while the OC16 seems tamer on the high end so sounds smoother all the way. I would go for OC16 all the way after trying the OC18 and the OC818. Amazing Mic for the price.
I’ve been looking at this one. A great sounding mic for sure. I have the Lewitt LCT 440 and the oc16 definitely sounded less brittle. Too bad that it doesn’t come with one of those neat magnetic pop filters like the Lewitt. Makes the Lewitt much more practical and attractive for on camera use, which is important for many these days.
Your voice-over performance and narrative for your reviews are very easy to listen to and enjoy. Excellent pace and delivery.
Man, I’m impressed by this microphone! I listened on studio monitors and preferred the OC16 to all others on YOUR voice. I’m going to check them out! I’ve always loved the AKG 414 with the old brass capsules. They’re getting old and EXPENSIVE! Too expensive for me. I’m going to look into Austrian for sure.
Love the sound of this mic - when I finish treating my room, a condenser is on the cards, and this may be the one I go for. But, man, does it ever need a pop filter. :)

I use an AT4040 for clarinet recording, do you think OC16 would surpass It? I'll probably get an OC16 and compare them. But let me know what you think.
I heard a completely different background story, it went more like they wanted to branch out and create more newer models for newer recording styles like home studios etc. They said, no just keep making the same mics that we are known for making. so they left including the woman who designed Austrian Audio's ceramic diaphragm, no one else touches those only her since it's her specialty. I'd like to try their headphones too. Interesting companies starting to come out after the home recording revolution.
Diving into VO and had my eye on this mic for awhile. Whenever a reviewer says that the company sent them the mic for free, I move on as I can't see how the review could be unbiased. Great review and great channel - just sub'd. Keep up the great work!
I like the shape but already went for a lewit 240 as an entry. I just use it for voice chat/ calls so it doesnt have to be 400 bucks. I got mine for 100€ as a warehouse deal and it was just open box like new
