Yep - if someone told me that there was a book with a 'Gray Pride Parade' that was trying to push 'Blues' out of the city, I'd say it was too on the nose and ridiculous to be taken seriously. And yet here we are..
Only recommendation is to only for an 30 min just listen to him. Because what he will say will blow your mind. Note: he is also a format scientist and self made multi millionaire. He uses only data
Would it be possible to actually have Balaji Srinivasan on the show? I think he has some very interesting ideas and he views the world very differently than most people. Although I disagree with a lot of his fascist-esque talking points, I think it could be interesting having you pick at his ideas. Thanks, loved the show!
This was such a great episode! Would it also be possible to do one on the Effective Altruism movement, their ties to the AI movement, Sam Altman’s longtermism beliefs and how everyone in AI is basically a eugenicist? An interview with someone like Timnit Gebru would be amazing! I feel like a lot of people aren’t aware of this either.
Thank you. I've been wondering what the tech layoffs were about. I think I understand now. The people eliminated were the technologists with the top pay. These are the nouveau riche technologists, and their political leanings are wild cards that often don't align with the owners. The layoffs then are about consolidating power prior to the great grey realignment. I knew it had to be some form of class warfare.
Love these! Really hate the fact I’m in this industry, the shift to the right by lots of “leaders” in this industry was visible, and seems to be heading for the worst.
Love that you called them out as plainly dumb. It can be that simple. Just because they have billions of dollars, they are no better informed or more knowledgeable on these issues. More likely the opposite is true due because they’ve been so focused on other things.
This conversation reminded me a lot of Raymond Craib's book Adventure Capitalism: A History of Libertarian Exit, from the Era of Decolonization to the Digital Age (2022)
"Infamous yet lesser known." 😂 So much disingenuousness from both of these people in this interview. Don't waste your time. I'm interested in critiques but actually thoughtful and honest ones.
Its ironic that billionaires are complaining about poverty when they are largely to blame for eroding America's middle class.
Poverty is largely caused by inflation and taxes which is caused by central banks and governments.
Tech bros: I invented a new form of government.
Therapist: A new form of government or fascism?
Tech bros: Fascism.
Lolol

These guys you’re talking about sound like they saw Robocop, and sided with OCP.
These guys read Snow Crash when they were teenagers and thought it sounds like a pretty nice world to live in
Most of these guys have read popular sci fi literature and believe the fascists/bad guys just went about it wrong.
I’m starting to think those revolutionary French were really onto something utilizing “ol’ choppy”.
Internet mother crushing the game as always!
🙌🏻😭🙌🏻
Appointment viewing for me every friday!
That means so much!!
I can't believe there wasn't a mention of the street sweeper robots with guns to "clean up" the homeless
Ahhhhh I’m shooketh to my core. I can’t believe this is what’s slowly starting to to form under our nose 🫨

What are some of his fascist talking points?

I love you for doing an episode on this. I live in the county where this ideology is helping drive the development of "California Forever."

Taylor thank you so much for your work!
Thank you for watching!! ❤
Not enough people in San Francisco have watched the prophetic Deep Space Nine episodes Past Tense, Part 1 and 2.
this needs more coverage and updates!
Thank you for this video- fascism is like a weed- always popping up and hard to extinguish.🤷🏻♀️
all this stuff is so unhinged thanks for tracking it

Tell me you haven't read The Network State without telling me you haven't read The Network State...
Thanks for this incisive episode.
This guy is very scary and bad, with a bit of a purge vibe, ick
Only recommendation just listen for 15 min, I bet you will change your mind 😊
I'm an atheist but would love that there is heaven and particularly hell.
Balaji is a damn genius
Thank you for the information. Much clearer than the article I read. I live in Solano County and do support California Forever.

Lol
They need to be taxed more.
