brilliant song as someone who grew up in my grandmothers house opposite damiens on holywell this song has always struck a deep chord with me it resonates to me more than any other song, many a night i heard of the details of these stories and etc from my dad.
I first heard this song whilst watching the between the canals film and I can honestly say it's fantastic, his voice is so strong its amazing

I'm from St. Donagh's; we always thought the lads in Holywell were poshies lookin' down on us.
This song illustrates something that I had to grow up and get away from Donaghmede/Kilbarrack to realise: everybody around us looked down on ALL of us(dmede/the donagh's/ k'barrack) and the only reason people from Donaghmede looked down on the Donagh's was because they were desperate to have someone to look down upon: People at the bottom always are.
They shut you down anyway . Ireland and the world and its children have never been under such attack . You might aswell speakn up . nothin to lose ! bless x
