It's going down hill and fast. Summer is just beginning and there are at least 10 building vacancies on "The Avenue". Murphy's is vacant, Equitable Bank is vacant, Heiss Jewelers is vacant, the Good Will is vacant, just so many vacancies at one time which never happened. Why you may ask? Well, the Liberals alway hated an all white Hampden. Always calling it's residents racist. Yet, Hampden being all white was why they came. Now, that Hampden is getting a higher percentage of black people moving in or visiting those very same Liberals are jumping ship. Liberals are low key racists. Once any area they live hits there 20% non white threshold, they move out and that's what we're seeing happen.Another destroyed neighborhood by Liberals.

When I was a traveling kid I used to play music on these streets , specifically the Main Street by the river walk and royal farms . Great people !
I moved to Baltimore in 1992 and Hampden has evolved and is still very Hampden but better. Do miss Cafe Hon though.
I ran those hills behind the zoo so many times I lost count. Live in Palm Beach, Florida and Thailand now but will always consider Hampden Home.
