Norfolk Southern & CSX Freight Trains In Columbus, Ohio!

- This Motel 6 has a perfect view of the Norfolk Southern ( N&W ) and the CSX ( B&O ) mainlines out of Columbus Ohio. I filmed this on March 22 and 23rd 2016 in Columbus Ohio. I stayed 2 nights at the Motel 6 off Sinclair Ave. right next to the Norfolk Southern and CSX main lines. I had to attend a 3 day training conference in order to maintain my state RS certification. I was a government employee for 20 years. These are only a few of the trains that I saw. It would be too long of a video if I added any more of them. +David Howarth They do run all night. I like sleeping with the sounds of the trains. I turn off the scanner at night and just listen to the rumble and clanking. I think its a great stress reliever. Thanks for watching!

+European Rail On average , about every 40 minutes. The longest span without a train was 1 hour and 43 minutes. A few times, I saw 2 trains at once. There are 3 tracks but I never saw all 3 in use at once. Thanks for watching!

I want to stay in that motel lol! We went to Columbus last year and it's a neat city.
I have stayed there a number of times over the years and it's always fun to have the trains show up at random. I like staying on the second floor in the back of course, that way you are right there at the locomotive cab level. Restaurants are easy to get to also. Bring a scanner, turn the tv on low and wait for the trains to come.

Jaw Tooth Wow, 51 cars?? What were they doing ? I went by Huhtamaki today after work, they have 10 cars on their siding and Afton is still full. I saw them switching Huhtamaki on Monday. It looks as though they have been there quite a bit lately.
45 tank cars being moved to Ancor, 5 box cars from Huhtamaki and one covered hopper from Win Ag. Today I saw them take the 45 tank cars east again thru Mt Oreb
