OK, This is BEAUTIFUL!!! I've made your Clay cleansers before that contained Polysorbate, but have always appreciated more natural product formulations. When I saw this formula, I HAD to try it out but decided to use Olive Squalane and Prickly Pear Oil along with the Castor, instead. OH MY GOODNESS!!!! This is something I think my customers will really love! I used it, and tested it with very cold water and of course warm. And it emulsifies BEAUTIFULLY in both, and rinses off perfectly, leaving the skin feeling 🤌!! I have rosacea and very sensitive skin, and this formulation is really gentle...just "simply" devine! Thank You, Marie!!
Beautiful, Marie! 😁 I just made mine, but instead of sweet almond oil, I used avocado oil, and sadly it's impossible to get colloidal oatmeal where I live (Germany), so I used hydrolysed oat powder instead and I added a tiny bit of matcha for some antioxidant soothing goodness 😍💚 it works very nicely as far as I can tell! 🤩☺️
So i always love trying your facial cleanser formulations. And realised that youv never made a facewash that tingles, with menthol crystals. Alot of people love the tingle feel . So theres a suggestion for a tingling facewash.
Could you use one of those mini milk frothers blending tools to whisk that to make sure everything is smooth? Especially if you're making a bigger batch.
Yesterday i made this and it is soo amazing!!! So soothing, hydrating, removed all of my make up and my skin feels so soft. I just woned to ask what do you think i can add for a difriend color and maby a difriend scent? I was thinking adding abit of beetroot powder for pink color or cacao powder for light brown. Woud love to hear what do you think. Thank you so much❤
Hey, if anyone in the comments has made this, I'm wondering at what stage one would add the liquid germall. I've read the blog post but i could only find the amount not atbwhich stage to add. Thanks in advance.
Hi dear Marie. I've just made the cleanser without any substitutions and it cleanses perfectly. The only problem is it feels a bit gritty and it might cause irritations on sensitive skin and eye area like an exfoliator. I didn't put it in the fridge after heating. I let it cool down to room temperature. Do you think that may have caused the grittiness?
It could have. Because each ingredient has a different melting point, so some ingredients could have solidified while cooling while others didn’t. I’d suggest that right after taking it off of the water bath, mix with an immersion blender and then quickly refrigerate so everything cools down together
Hi Marie I love all your formulations but I have one problem. I stay in India where the temperature is very hot. How can I tweak the recipe so that my balm doesn’t melt
I shared a video and blog post last year all about melting body butters, please refer to that. Search "melting" and www.humblebeeandme.com/search. Happy making!
I don't recommend it. In this particular formulation that wouldn't be a total failure, but it will make for a substantially more drying/stripping end product :)
I have shared many highlighter formulations over the years at www.humblebeeandme.com/ and in my book, Make it Up: The Essential Guide to DIY Makeup and Skin Care ❤️
Hello! I want to make the cleansing balm, but i don't find collodial oatmeal. Would you be so kind to tell us a substitute for it? Can be taken out from the recipe? If so, will this impact alot the viscosity? Thank you so much!! I ♥️ your recipes!
Hi! Have you read the blog post (including the substitutions list) + the Humblebee & Me DIY Encyclopedia (www.humblebeeandme.com/diy-encyclopedia/) entry on colloidal oatmeal? :)
Hi Marie, I made the cleansing balm and i can say that i looooooove it soooo much!! I think i will continue to make it always. It is so soft and pampering. Thank you for this amazing recipe. I would like to ask you something... To boost the cleansing power, in order to feel less oily after washing it off, do you think that adding Polysorbate 80, is a good idea? If yes, what would be the right percent to add in the formula? Thank you for taking your time to read our coments and questions. ♥️
Looks like I am a bit late to the party on this thread, but, I can't find coco caprylate anywhere. Does anyone know where I could buy it, or what a good substitution would be? Thank you!
Welcome, Victoria! Please read the partner blog post I mention in the video-it contains 1) links to places to purchase all the ingredients; 2) substitution suggestions within the context of the formulation; 3) links to encyclopedia articles on all the ingredients, and those entries also contain substitution information. All of this is free, of course. Happy making!
Kind of, but not without re-developing the formulation to account for using something liquid instead of something solid. I'd recommend this formulation instead: www.humblebeeandme.com/rose-clay-cleansing-balm/. Happy making!
You'll find the answer to your question in the "Substitutions" section of the partner blog post. It's linked in the description box below the video ;) If you're not sure what that means, read this: www.humblebeeandme.com/faqs/whats-the-description-box-on-youtube/. Happy making!

I have tried making this balm cleanser & every time I can't seem to get the olivem1000 MB to melt. It's always grainy. I've done this recipe 5 times. Please help
Are you sure it's the Olivem1000 that isn't melting? The clay and colloidal oatmeal won't melt-you're certain that's not the un-melted stuff you're seeing?
This is completely irrelevent to this video. But im following a recipi from your website por lipgloss. But how did u get the Clear color on yours??? I have tried to follow the recipi by detail and it turns whitish from the beeswax 😪
It will never be clear in the tube, but it will be clear on application. For a crystal clear gelled oil product I'd look at something like this: www.makingcosmetics.com/Polyamide-3_p_312.html?locale=en (look at the sample recipe linked on the page). Happy making!

Thank you so much! My 31 anti-aging recommendation is daily sunscreen application :) I love sunscreens from Japan!
Thanks for another lovely recipe, Marie! Just a heads-up...The link for this recipe on your site links to the wrong video.
Lovely As Always...Keep Rocking Keep Shining... Marie...❤
Thank you so much 😀
I love this recipe, i love how gently it cleansers. Can you turn this into a solid butter that requires no packaging.

could we replace the colloidal oat with iris poder or another flowe poder like rose or lavender or even hibiscus?
if I don't have access to colloidal oat can I just leave it out and keep all the rest of the ingredients the same? will it come out as good?
So now I know what I will be doing tonight 😀🤣
Woohoo! Thanks for DIYing with me, and happy making :)

Hi, can this be considered organic? or natural?
Is it eye friendly? I mean can I remove eye makeup without any irritation?
This is discussed around 07:06 in the video + in the blog post :)
@@HumblebeeAndMe yea I didint notice at first can we make anything which could be eye friendly?
Can a water soluble extract be used in this recipe?
As long as it is dry, yes :)

Hi! Have you read the blog post (including the substitutions list) + the Humblebee & Me DIY Encyclopedia (www.humblebeeandme.com/diy-encyclopedia/) entry on colloidal oatmeal? :)
Yes, I've red.... I was thinking to put instead of 10% Oatmeal - 5% kaolin and 5% glycerine... I dont have another fine powder that can work better.

Instead of Olivem 1000, can poly 80 or simulsol be used?
Kind of, but not without re-developing the formulation to account for using something liquid instead of something solid. I'd recommend this formulation instead: www.humblebeeandme.com/rose-clay-cleansing-balm/. Happy making!
If we add the preservative in it , do l need to test the PH ?
No PH testing, as there is no water included.
