- Join me for day 3 of Decluttering my ENTIRE Home Before We Move. Today I am focusing on my master closet. It was incredible to declutter, sort, organize and donate items I no longer use.

Well Done! Now get rid of the HANGERS you don't want to move with you. Better yet, spend a few bucks at Amazon & get the "Velvet" hangers! Mine are Pastel Pink with Gold Hooks! I also bought Pant/Skirt Hangers as well as the multi-rack ones for my silk scarves. Perfect! I've downsized my Wardrobe considerably bc of a 78lb weight loss & was able to buy all new things! I love my organized & Minimalist Closet & it's even more of a pleasure bc I can see all my silk scarves on the new multi-rack hangers & my jewelry boxes on top of the closet drawers & my shoes all organized, too! So Neat & Pretty & best of all, it brings JOY to me! (Funny how you appreciate everything in life more after being ill for 2+yrs)

Love this! Moving makes it easy when decluttering to be ruthless.
I’ve done the same throughout my entire home. It’s freeing and allows creativity. I call it the “ health purge”. Keep at, it betters your life!

I’m almost 79. You will find that if you don’t reorganize every year, you’ll wind up with so much carp, that you’re children will have to deal with it when you’re gone 😮 Gift them a gift by not hoarding.
My closet is the HARDEST for me to get rid of stuff. The main reason is cuz i usually fluctuate weight so i always end up getting rid of my "skinny clothes" saying I'll never be that size again, then i get skinny again, Same with bigger clothes then i gain weight... so it makes it Really hard for me. 😩

literally what happened to me. i was steadily gaining weight for over ten years, finally decided to declutter and donated six giant bags of too small clothes. started rapidly losing weight three months later, now i don't have a single pair of pants that isn't way too big...

I nearly lost it, rewinding that one scene where you were kneeling on the closet floor - like 4 times 😂. I was thinkin to myself.. did she age by 40 years all of a sudden?? Did her hair turn grey?? Where did the bun come from?! 🤣 my conclusion wa that it must have been a Halloween costume wig, or something. Aaanyhoo, I'm so impressed by your pace of decluttering. And your motivation to keep going! All I managed was 4 shelves in my closet last weekend 😭

This is amazing! Decluttering for a move really helps with packing. If I were you, I would only keep one color of hangers.

Every year on new year's i turn all my hangers backwards (barring a handful of special event clothes and sentimental items). As i wear clothes i put them back facing the right way. End of December i get rid of everything still on a backwards hanger since i didnt wear it in a year
Donate the hangers! I try have 8 wooden hangers per person. But even 24 or 32 is a solid number, so you have a boundary of what to keep ❤️

You said you are doing series, but only short videos? I subscribed for decluttering motivation but then saw that there are no longer decluttering videos, or at least I didn't find those.
Just a tip … if it doesn’t have anything to do with getting dressed, it doesn’t belong in that closet. Find another space with like items to store it.
Get rid of the extra hangers, they'll tempt you to rebuy more stuff 🙈

Honest concern, most of the clothes I keep I don't genuinely like them, but the ones that I do like aren't enough to get me through a week or so even cross matching, and I don't have the money to buy new ones so, what do I do?

Buy less stuff and you will have less to discard. Our planet needs us to avoid buying crap that we will hardly use.
