I like that RAM makes the Power Wagon in Tradesmen trim. Not everyone wants all the luxury things, they just want the capability. Plus a $20,000 price difference is huge.
I really like the looks of the Tradesman actually. EXCEPT the chrome bumpers. What were they thinking? It would look soooooo much better if they were black.
and there isn't much real chrome these days. truck pulled up behind me today (silverado i think) with the whole chrome grill all bubbled up about to peel off. the first thing almost every tacoma trd off road owner does is change that shiny grill. i'm not saying chrome is bad on trucks, but no off-roader want bling and it's all like a plastic foil adhesive stuck on plastic now anyway.
When I rented a Ram to try out I was leery about the dial, when I was done with the truck I LOVED the dial and wanted it in my Ford. It's smooth and when you get into tight spots you can go from drive to reverse so quick back and forth much faster than any gear lever or console shifter. You watch, the dial will take over in all vehicles within the next 8 years.
All the Power Wagons look awesome but that tradesmen with the Power Wagon package looks really really good I love how Ram offers that package and carried it over from the last gen.
Its nice to see a truck builder including all the goodies in the base model. Not all of us need LED head and tail lights or a luxury interior. I wont feel cheated if I go for the lower cost model! Thanks Ram and a shout out to TFL for another great video.

Yep, I totally love the rotary shifter in my 2019 Laramie 5.7 e-torque 1500. I wish my truck was available with the front bumper style of the Rebel. I'd have gotten the Rebel if it was available with the front bench style seat. I'm not sure the Rebel is available with e-torque?.
@@mjg6377 oh, that's great news Rebel can be e-torque. Thx.Yep, I absolutely think the front bench style seat is great. Asked for it in my previous truck too. It's plenty comfortable for me and I'm one who really appreciates comfort. I got bench cuz of versatility. I can fit three people or a long box or cooler. Also got the passenger seat fully electric, height adjustable with lumbar like the driver seat. I realized I made the mistake of not making sure my passengers have nice features also from the many complaints in my previous truck. These salespeople just don't tell us very much. We have to do most all the investigating of every single option and feature. Three things missing on my new 1500 Laramie that I'll be sure to get in my next truck are the larger 33 gallon fuel tank, the engine block heater and the rear bumper deployable bed step. They sold me the standard 26 gallon fuel tank which gives at most 350 miles driving range and I'm pissed off about that. I'm constantly refueling. For me driving range is of key importance. I'd think a decent intelligent salesman would recommend going with the larger fuel tank anyway, especially considering these vehicles ain't the greatest on mpg. I'm after the 50/50 truck, or maybe 60/40 regarding on road/ off road capabilities.
After many years of happily driving RAM 1500s (most happily with the sublime 8spd) I finally stepped up to my dream truck and bought a 2018 Power Wagon. It has been my daily driver and tow/travel rig for the last year and a half. It has surpassed my wildest expectations and is by far my most favorite vehicle Ive ever owned, which is saying something. But this new Wagon has put a hitch in my giddy up. My Wagon has all the bells & whistles plus it looks great...the ONLY thing I long for is that 8 speed. Is it enough to trade in my 18 already? No. But when the time comes, I am so happy it will have the 8 speed and by that time, will be a whole new generation of 2500. THANK YOU RAM for keeping this awesome vehicle updated and in the line up!!
I know they play in different arena's but 67k is still cheaper than the 70k+ I'm seeing for a new Raptor. And used 2017/18 Power Wagons are going for 45kish. That's not bad especially with the extended warranty
Nice truck. Love it. Almost bought it. Bit too big for Chicago streets. Got ram 1500 instead. If dealer didn’t lie to me that they had it in stock I would be driving one now...
Can’t wait to see this on the Ike. I had a 17 2500 6.4 with 3.73 rear and I have to say I loved the 6.4 but absolutely hate the 6 speed auto. I always felt like the truck struggled to move it’s own weight because of the horribly spaced gearing that killed the power band of the 6.4. I bet it’s a damn monster working with a proper transmission. And extra gears.
You'd need to swap out the springs for regular 2500 units, the stock PW ones are very squishy. It would be a waste really, this truck is meant to climb and twist, plus the plow blocks the winch. A base model 2500 4x4 with the locking rear is all you need.
Wish dealers carried more 6-passenger seating in a luxury trim. The dropdown center armrest is much more comfortable. Plus I can use the 6-passenger capacity to sell the idea of a pick-up truck to my wife over a 5-passenger Honda Passport/CR-V.
This has been my problem as well; a family of 6 must fit for me but I absolutely want the big screen and some nice stuff. Most of the makers stick a full console in there on the higher trims, but I've seen pictures/video of 2019 RAM HDs with the folding split bench in the front with the new large (12" I think) display and interior. Not sure on the heated/cooled seat options with the bench though.
@@T51B1 I found in the Ram Configurator, you can get the 12-inch screen and all of the luxury and safety features on the Laramie trim and still get the 6-passenger seating. This and the RamBin and RamBox options are why I have pushed the Ram to the top of my list.

There is a mid level trim if that's what you mean. I have it in my '16. 8" nav and tow mirrors were the only options it has. I had the dealer install the factory remote start.
Power wagon has solid Axels front and rear, more powerful engine, greater towing, and greater payload. Rebel has ifs up front, or at least I'm pretty sure.
The power wagon package greatly reduces payload and towing capacity. Dont remember the numbers but you can see them on the 'build and price' tool at RAM's website

I like the red one better, front end look better
I didnt like the way it looked until i saw it in white and i have to say it looks way better.
I’m unsure still but the white one looks good.
I was out in those trails while the media drive was going on ... I was really confused to see brand new rams in the desert around Vegas
“What do you drive”? “ -----------“I drive a power wagon”
wish we could get this package with a regular cab
They could add a tampon holder on the Power Wagon and Nathan would be okay with it lmao
FCA, if you're reading this: I would pay a bit extra to get the tradesman grille on a fully optioned power wagon.
that two tone white and black is THE sexiest thing, i swear
nathan have you guys ever looked into the older pwr wagons where the service 4wd light comes on and then your lockers and swaybar dont work doesent seem like there is a answer out there for this happining it seems to me if any one could find an answer it would be you guys like all the vids you guys put out keep up the good work
I prefer lever too Nathan
I'm really curious about the MPG!
shockracer In my experience as an owner, I can get 15-20mpg on the freeway with 37” tires but my average will stay around 14. Stock, the best I saw was 17.8mpg for my average after a long trip on back roads. The new 8 speed should help all that.
I had a 2017 and i averaged in the 12s with 35s, i might be a little heavy on the gas
Chris McLaughlin Around town I’m getting about 11.5 in my 2017. It’s acceptable. 🤷🏻♂️
Bro if you want this truck just get a second car as daily
I average 12-13. It does weigh 9,125 the way I have it outfitted. This is on 35” General X3 Red Letters. Speed/Odo corrected.
Hope they don’t change anything until I can afford it. This will be my No1 truck ever,,!!!
Sucks how they didn’t update the front bench middle seat. The new design of the front middle seat in the 1500 is great, I like how it has a head rest. It sucks it’s not available for the power wagon or any HD truck. Guess we’re stuck with the old bench seat.
You can't have a non bench seat because of the transfer case.
You guys should do a video with Big Truck Big RV, he was there in the lead truck I believe.
Mr. Truck did a couple of videos with BTBRV a while ago, too.
Then all we’d see are Nathan’s hands. That being said...
Does the tradesmen version come with the 6.4 ? Can it be ordered
Amazing truck, amazing video
For that price something is missing here; a Ram hood ornament just like the Mack bulldog!
Rebel, turbo diesel or Power Wagon?
I love the Power Wagon! However, the 6.4L is lacking in Hp/Tq compared to the competition. I'd love to see a diesel Power Wagon.
Love the power wagon. Hey ram how about a power wagon with Longhorn interior. That would be my dream truck. Going off roading cowboy style.
There is a mid level trim if that's what you mean. I have it in my '16. 8" nav and tow mirrors were the only options it has. I had the dealer install the factory remote start.
Good job Nathan. I like your videos. You keep it real. Always.
Bella hermosa esa Ram puede con todo
how much do I have to make a year for this truck to be in my price range? im 21. in college not making any bread at the moment
OMG , I’m buying a power wagon right now! It’s crazy! It’s expensive even after heavy discounts! But POWER WAGON DONT CARE!
So 19' powerwagon or rebel? Thoughts? I wanna be able to tow. Put leveling kit on and run bigger tires.
Power wagon has solid Axels front and rear, more powerful engine, greater towing, and greater payload. Rebel has ifs up front, or at least I'm pretty sure.
Get rid of that shine armor and get amsoil miracle wash for winter!
The 6.4 needs to get a power boost
vmac805 Zero why?
A little but not to much
I wish they had option for 3.0 diesel. I would buy it tomorrow.
Did you mention the payload and I missed it? What did the door sticker say? Would love to know them both from the actual stickers please. Thanks!!!
The power wagon package greatly reduces payload and towing capacity. Dont remember the numbers but you can see them on the 'build and price' tool at RAM's website
Has the rear suspension been updated at all to address the wheel hop issues?
Wait what? This is the first I've ever heard this one... I have a '16 and it don't hop on or off-road.
Previous generation PW Tradesman was only a few grand less than the regular Power Wagon with no options. The $67k dollar one here is likely very nearly fully loaded. Last I checked the vehicle configurator wasn't up for the 2019 trucks yet. I'm posting from my phone and would rather not check from my phone right now.
The Opinion of Matt - plus you really want at least the 8” screen. Mid trim is the way to go if you can’t pop for Laramie level.
i am not even joking when i say this, i would give a kidney for this truck man.......
Nice review of the POWER WAGON!
