1. Know what you’re going to say. Be conscious.
2. Listen to the people who are articulate
3. Find out whenever the words you don’t know appear.
4. Take some time to write everyday.
5. Don’t say when you’re angry unless you don’t want to be articulate

To your point about maintaining composure. I think it's also important for people to remember that being articulate is not an end goal for speaking or communication of any kind. Poetry and music are incredibly communicative (or can be) even when they aren't as "articulate". I feel like Childish Gambino's "This is America" is a fantastic example of prioritizing the message above how "articulate" it sounds. Another benefit of losing composure is inciting empathy. In your recent review of Ventura by Anderson .Paak, you became clearly emotional about the respect and care put into the final song on the track. Doing so I imagine was for yourself, but allowing yourself to be vulnerable in moments helps remind us that you don't talk about music because you're "articulate", it's because you love music, and you want to share it and talk about it.
If being articulate was the end goal, we would all talk like terms of service agreements. Communication should come from somewhere, and being articulate should just be one tool in the toolbox. Loved the video Anthony, thanks.
Anthony you fool you have given away my secrets for the last time.
protip: just use jump cuts about 120x per minute throughout what you say. and now you're -articulate- the youtube representation of a nearly-solved jigsaw puzzle
“You never say *_m o m_* or anything”
How to he articulate: Don’t watch thatistheplan.
Fredrick Shan well now we don’t have a choice do we
Woah melon I didn’t expect you to talk about your political stance on how neonazis are bettering society
Thank you! People always ask me to be more well spoken.
You sure love those 'trap-influenced' beats melon
Finally, the speech therapy I need. I've been growing a foot in my mouth for the last 4 years and it just keeps getting worse.
My communication has actually improved a lot since I started watching your reviews. Thanks melon!
I find myself agreeing with you on so many things that it’s crazy. Not always with reviews, but on your personal vids like this, I realize we have some similar opinions on life and such.
I love seeing this from you . I did speech and debate In high school so communication is really cool and important to me so seeing someone like you promoting that is amazing
Fantano, dropping the hard r is not articulate!
?
living that articulate lifestyle
One of my favorite people to listen to when they speak publicly in interviews and such is Michael Stipe from REM. He has this way of making everything he talks about feel deep and significant, and he kind of imbues a sense of this like, “this is something that won’t be around forever and you should appreciate it while it’s here” to almost everything he’s talking about, even if it’s something that isn’t particularly important or urgent. He doesn’t do very many interviews, but he just sat down with Rick Rubin and chatted for a long time on his podcast and it’s beautiful to just listen to the guy chat. Love Michael Stipe.
Been waitin' on this for AGES now. Loved the way ya talk ever since your voice fingered my ears just right. Much love, Melon
Melon literally just talks like David Pakman with more laughing and memes
I never noticed that until this comment. You're right, man.

Thanks for this video @fantano I'm pursuing being a teacher, and I've always had trouble stumbling on words and not being articulate when I am explaining things, and I have been working on fixing it and these tips are very useful
I’m always striving to be more articulate. Thank you for the pointers Mr. Melon.
This straight up great content no joke. Great job Anthony!
Shout out to David Pakman! Pretty good dude.
Thank you for sharing your wisdom, Dadtano
These are great tips! I am a radio host and podcaster and I agree with everything you mentioned🙏🏽
I think you were the most articulate in your Dark Sky Paradise review.
Mike Craig NO NO NO
lmao that shapiro joke was the best, i was thinking about it just before you said it
I must have missed that. Where can I find it?
the part where he speaks about not speaking way too fast
This subject is what I believe has drawn me into this channel. I stumbled upon this because of the Radiohead Best to Worst video and found the candor and cadence to be soothing and enjoyable (even though I completely DISAGREE with King of Limbs being ranked worst!). From there I sought out more, with Let's Argue being my favorite segment - even though I don't know half of the artists mentioned. If you ever do an east coast tour (hello Philly!), I'll do my best to be in attendance.
A lot of joke comments here but this is really solid advice. Lol. I’ve been recording myself speak this whole year and I’ve realized I could definitely improve .
The first time I watched this I was having an anxiety attack and now the idea of me just watching this during it is hilarious to me.
1. Listen to articulate people
2. Expand your vocabulary
(I google every new word I hear)
3. Write a little
(Take your time to sort your mind and put down the perfect words)
The most articulate melon out there
man, i learned so much english from your videos! keep it up
It also helps to be able to edit your speech, like in a video.
One important conversation skill is, if you think of something you want to say, continue to listen to the other people talk. It's hard to not just wait for them to stop talking so you can say what you were thinking.
MELON please make a video teaching me how to be lovable.
English is not my first language, but i understand you perfectly, so yes, your speech is easy listening like elevator music.
Did not expect to be teach how to spoken Engrish, thank melon
Thanks for this, I actually find it helpful!
"Don't speak when you are angry..."
That's the thing, Anthony, I am always angry.
I don't have to go to high school now. Thanks, Anthony!

A sad case this is, my friend. Hate to break it to you this way
This is the first time I've seen a UA-camr comment on a video and somehow get so few likes. Wtf happened here
Watches this video.
"Take the time to look words up if you don't know what they mean."
*Looks up lackluster and zeitgeist.*
Wow! Anthony is so good with the words, I wish I could be like him.
“Don’t be afraid to embrace space.” That’s deep.
yes it is! never thought of it that way before!
Hey Anthony, I like your points here for the most part, but if I could recommend one more point to help articulation; Practice. Practice is extremely important no matter what your studying, and a lot of people I know who program code for living forget to practice what they learn. In same vein, if you are trying to be articulate, practice speaking in front of people, practice annunciation, and practice your cadence.
So glad he talked about how you have a phone so there's no excuse not looking up the meaning of the words you use.
"listen to people who speak more articulate"
Ok Fantano. I see you plugging your channel there, and *I'm gonna go ahead and take that advice.*
This is video is the zeitgeist of how to have a grander scheme of themes, its a bold artistic statement in a lackluster of autobiography. Its a strong 8 to a light 9.
Thank God you don’t use the popular disfluency “like”.
I’m so happy I saw this video. Now I can speak properly, you really helped me melon
4:07 "You may become a better speaker by listening to others, my favourite speakers to usually listen to and get ideas from are Zong Bedao, Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin. Their speaking really inspires all my ideals. I recommend listening to individuals who you respect, such as these." - Anthony Fantano
Nice vid. If you want a really good example of how articulate Anthony is I'd highly recommend his review of B.o.B's album 'Ether'.
