Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Question: Why would low fuel hurt the batteries.

    Hybrid engines power the electric motors to drive the car as well as charge the battery. If you run out of fuel, you risk rapidly discharging the battery pack. A rapid discharge without properly balancing the electricity between individual cells can lead to shorts, you don't want to short out your battery obviously. It's not a scare tactic.

      Hello so my HYUNDAI sonata hybrid runway gas now stop engine
      So it won't start what should I do
      Do I have change the battery

      ​@@abakarabu7326what he's trying to say is the engine and the motor engine works together hand in hand which is why it's called a hybrid they work together if there is no gas in the vehicle than the electric motor will not start as a result it won't charge the battery and by forcing the car to do something without gas knowing that the gas help the electric motor to charge the car battery would cause a discharge

    maybe because if your tank is empty , the engine stop but electric motor want to continu , and maybe the motor want to much amps when the gas motor stop etc! it's just a supposition!
