    Excellent. Finally, I was able to remove 24 workspaces back to 2017.

    Thanks, Mr. Kelly! This was a very handy tutorial, specially for the workspace backup tip.
    Best regards from Rio de Janeiro/Brazil.

    Thanks for another excellent tutorial Dave. With regard to Windows users, to view the Adobe Photoshop Settings folder you need to make sure that in the View section of Windows Explorer under Show/Hide you check in the box Show Hidden as you may not see the folder you want to choose. You can drag the folder into your Quick Access section (left panel of Windows Explorer) and drop it to where in the list you want it to live. Dave, let me know if you want screen shots.

    Thank you, Dave...this really cleared things up for me (and I'm sure for others, too). Couldn't figure out why I couldn't keep the action panels from covering parts of an image, no matter how I moved things around, even though my monitor is plenty big enough. Thanks to your video, I learned I was in the 'essentials' workspace, and also the tip about the blue bars (which I had totally forgotten). Great tutorial.

    Most practical information. I recognize the value of a backup. Do I ever?..... I tested the backups by restoring e.g. everything I saved in Photoshop to the Beta version. With the exception of "TK8 My Actions", everything worked.

    Very helpful, in particular I’ve always struggled to get the panels to dock where I wanted them. Big take away was how to backup my workspace. For some reason photoshop disappeared from my CC desktop app and my hard drive (Mac). Would have been handy to restore my workspaces so easily. Thanks!!

    Sometimes, when trying to re-arrange my workspace, I left click on a right side panel and the whole group of panels moves. Have yet to figure out why this happens. How to back up workspaces is the gem of this video for me. All the best Dave.

    Wonderful lesson Dave. I've been able to stumble through this process, but now I feel comfortable with it and the backup tip is awesome. My last Photoshop update wiped out my workspaces and I had the frustration of setting it up again. Your detailed steps filled in all of the gaps in my knowledge.

    Another step that may help some people is to edit toolbar to hide tools that are not useful to your way of using Photoshop and to ungroup common tools so that their icons always appear in the tool bar. In my case I have ungrouped object selection and quick selection, and all the healing tools so that these are all one click away. If you do this then you will need to click the toolbar checkbox when saving a workspace.

    Dave: Love you presentations. I have a question about presenting items to a camera club live. Do you have a method to flyout or expand a section or folder of a program running on a laptop or do you do this after your video is completed and you zoom on a certain section of the screen. Thank you

    Really helpful video Dave , how do I get the actions panel to stay open in TK9 as there is no TK button to click on to open up that like yours in TK8

    • @thejoyofeditingwithdavekelly
      @thejoyofeditingwithdavekelly  7 місяців тому

      Thank you. To answer your question: On either the TK Combo or CX Panel, go to the upper right corner and look for the 4 lines that are on top of each other (a lot of people refer to this as a hamburger menu) Click on the 4 lines and UNCHECK (Auto-close TK actions menu) and now the Actions Panel will stay open until you close it...

    Great video as usual! Question... I'm running both Photoshop 2023 & the BETA version. What's the easiest way to syn workspaces between the version? THANKS in advance!

    • @thejoyofeditingwithdavekelly
      @thejoyofeditingwithdavekelly  Рік тому +2

      Thanks. I haven't tried this but you might be able to copy the workspace (.psw file) from Photoshop 2023 and paste it into the Workspaces Folder in the Beta Version.

    Hello Dave, I was watching this particular video again, because you showed a real convenient tip around the 20:39 mark. It's the tip where if by any chance you have opened modification layers and you're stuck and can't get out of them. You demonstrated how to fix that issue by pressing the TK button and they all get erased. I was wondering how you can do that with the new TK9 panel. It seems that the TK logo or button is not present. How would you accomplish this convenient tip on TK9?

      Good Question. All you need to do is go to any panel in the upper right corner and click on the 4 lines button (I call it the hamburger menu). Near the bottom of the list you will see "Reload Panel" Click it and your panel will reset.

      I am not a portrait photographer but it works well with any style of photography. It does have an excellent Frequency Separation action which is great for portrait photography.

    Is there a way to reorganize the list of My Actions without deleting them and re-inputting them? I want to change the order to facilitate my workflow.

    • @thejoyofeditingwithdavekelly
      @thejoyofeditingwithdavekelly  Рік тому

      Yes. Command Click for Mac, Control Click for Pc on an action and a new interface will open and you can re-arrange your actions. Continue to Command/CTRL click on each action you wish to re-arrange.

      @@thejoyofeditingwithdavekelly thank you. Took a few tries before I realized there were Up and Down arrows to move the actions about the list. Now the list mimics my actual workflow. Thanks again Dave! Kim
