I sure do love me a tin top westy! I had a 78 at one time and do miss it. Great job digging out the old classics and giving them another chance at life.
My 71 tin top is named Wanda Alova. Haha what she does when there is a crosswind. She came into the US into a Texas port from Germany. So both names represent. My girlfriend loves Wanda.
❤️’d the LabraTours...Do you have a labcoat/mechanics coat? Do you have a pocket protector? What’s in it? 3:42 Take it out, do it right, it deserves it. Are you building Moose into the Worlds Fastest Westy?
I know a lot of people love these things but I'm not one of them. It's probably because I've been stuck behind one on two-lane mountain roads multiple times. I know that says more about the drivers, who wouldn't pull off and let traffic pass, than the cars but the antipathy is still there.
You either love em or you hate em. I personally am a fan...but as a driver you do get used to ignoring what is behind you...if you don't, it scares the heck out of you and you find yourself doing something stupid and running it too hard just to attempt to stay out of the way. Another reason VW Bus drivers don't pull over is a loss of momentum...especially on a hill...if you pull off, there is no way you can get back in traffic without causing a bigger back up. When you get stuck behind one, just be aware that they are doing the best they can!
they pay taxes too, so they can go whatever speed they want ✌🏻 maybe slow down and try to enjoy the ride as well and you won’t have so much “antipathy”
I love all of your channel content but when it comes to the old Volkswagens it always makes me smile!
Old VWs are certainly "home" for me. Im passionate about all automobiles, but I will never stop messing with the air cooled Germans!
Great find!
Great find...👍

Looks like a nice original.
It is!
Hello from Detroit, I've got my eye on a 63 vw bus. I love the little windows on the old ones.
The early Busses are definitely awesome and far more desirable , but they sure don’t drive as nice as the Bays.
Pedals indicate mileage is probably accurate. Great find. Look forward to seeing what you do with this van.
i guess it's quite off topic but does anybody know of a good website to watch newly released series online ?

How about Elon, he was born in 1971 as well. Me too by the way..
If you don't call it "Barney " , how about the first name of the first owner. Or the first name if the last owner. Please don't call him Randy!!!👍🚀👍
And what’s wrong with being Randy? It does have a bed in the back you know !
off the top of the head.........Wally.................no reason..........
