the jump from "do it 4x faster on one hand" to "keep the rhythm of one hand while accenting the 7th note on the other" is maximum 1% easier than the jump from "just tap in 4/4" to "7/4 on one hand and 4/4 on the other"
Im 21 I got into percussion for 2 years and couldn’t do shit I then switched to clarinet and was placed 1st chair my first year when I graduated in 2018 I was offered 4 full ride scholarships from different schools 2 were out of state. Just saying this cause if anyone is trying to get this simple technique down and struggling don’t be afraid to put it down and try at something different
Can’t do it for a few days, start to get it after a few more days, once it’s in your brain and isn’t causing you discomfort, you’ve done it. Patience is key with drums, especially brain breaking polyrhythms.
@arealhuman2409 oh I've tried, I've practiced but nailing this time signature consistently on command is ridiculous. If you're so sure it's possible prove it.
4 against 7 sounds tribal to me for some reason
Totally! I really like the sound of this one
Danny Carey uses this in Rosetta Stoned
And Gavin Harrison in sound of muzak
HAH *knee slap*
My dyslexic ass read trivial and was ready to throw hate
Tbh I was like "How tf r u going to make 7:4 simple" and after the short i was like "Damm it does make sense"
You can use this formula on any polyrhythm against 4 in pretty sure
I still can’t fucking play it
WE HUNTING MAMMOTHS WITH THIS ONE🗣️🗣️🗣️OOGA BOOGA🔥🔥🔥🔥
Lmaooo
Its incredible dude!! Keep up the good work! 🎉❤ Love from Germany
Thank you! Will do!
You have made me rethink polyrhythms
This is such a good method man. It's all about finding that rhythm and everyone can learn it.
Is there a saying for this one, like pass the goddamn butter for 3/4
“Pass the salt and pepper the food is tasteless”
The polyrithym equivalent to "Do you have tabs, bro? "
I can vacuum all the rooms in my house
@@Trombinha_joojoh my god that’s actually really true
Isn't that for 7:5
As an experienced drummer I have never heard a better explanation. Great job!!!!!
Beating chest and druuuum beating tired bones again
This is THE STRAT for practising polyrhythms 👌✨
Your talent is absolutely baffling to me. Amazing job!:)
This is like "how to draw a perfect circle" by Sponge Bob but for music
My brain hurts so fucking much but honestly, I think I should learn stuff like that
Meshuggah has entered the chat
Demiurge
came to comment this lol
Yoooooo not gonna lie, this is the best I've actually felt such an odd polyrhythm.
Also this hits a sick beat so it’s easier to remember
Excellent demonstration !
Goated tutorial
has a bossa nova feel at the end

I was waiting for the danananow dananana dow dow down dananada nanananana
Hard af
Learning the pattern in the last 5 seconds of the video is easier than the entire explanation.
If you're watching this thinking "I can do that" you can't.
You can’t tell me what not to do! You’re not me mum

Just practice it for a week. You'll get it.
No you can. Everyone can. You just don't try.

The most misunderstood thing about polyrhythms is that you have to feel them, no! You can count them out and it makes it so much easier for learning
This is harder than it looks, and it looks harder than it sounds....
Trying to count 8 2x with this was fun
As long as you can count the subdivisions you're not playing the polyrhythm fast enough.
Where have you been all my life 🤯
oh my god thank you
That just made everything click for me
Next video: WHY play 4:7 polyrythm
Phonon would like to know your location
what app is that?
What metronome app is that?
Damn dude that’s scary
as a tuba player,
what’s going on?
is that an app?
This is how indians think about rhythm. Shakti is a great band that utilizes rhythm through language
Aren't you accentuating every 8th note ? There's something I'm not getting, is the first note of the 16 pattern counted as 0 ?
I did this with 4/9 lol
ka by leaf;
Why seven...
Bro I can't even play the brazzers song on drums how am I gonna do this
No swing it
the right hand is very very slightly off from the left hand, yet it annoys me so much, that its not even possible to explain my annoyance
