Oh man when I was playing maniac mode for the first time, I just started having two screens up, one for FE12 and one for maniac mode in which I'd play FE12 during enemy phase
I’ve tried doing something else during enemy turns but then I’ve been hit with reinforcement waves that I didn’t pay attention to that just ruin everything
Just wanted to say, I love your content, Mekkah. I super appreciate your love for the FE games, especially ones like FE9 and the attention to detail. Thanks for continuing to produce this kind of content for us viewers.
Poor Lucia. My soul dies every time it comes time to review her. She's literally got everything going against her, bad class as infantry and footlocked, with three different units that can outclass her at this point, super late join time, awful bases and her growths don't even work without enough levels to take advantage of them. Poor girl, getting her thunder stolen both in this game and RD.
when it comes to provoke, ive had enemy archers leave their ballista to go to an empty one to attack brom from longer range because he had provoke and had a javelin while being in 1-2 range of the archer
Oh oscar, i have a tale to tell about him. Oscar having strength troubles is an understatement. Oscar made it to endgame as a level 20 paladin with capped speed, defense, and 13 strength. Infact that 13 came exclusively from his paladin level ups. Cause when he was a cavalier he grew strength a total of zero times.
So last time i played FE9 i did meme around with Ulki and i had a lot of fun with the build i ran: Provoke + Pavise: Ulki is bulky, reasonably dodgy, and his bad meter is mitigated by provoke. I would put him in range of 4+ enemies on T1, and by T2 he'd be fully transformed. would HIGHLY recommened if you want another flier, it was a lot of fun.
I'm always confused when people say using mist on the spoiler fight is a reason to train her. That's a pitfall if I ever saw one. If your Ike is too weak, she won't change that. If your Ike is strong enough(and fixed growth mode guarantees you hitting the important stat caps) you are still relying on 1 aether procc or 1 wrath critical. A leveled Mist will at best save you the trouble of drinking an elixir where she can stay in staff range and an unleveled Mist would have to leave to run. Super unnecessary.
I have only played path of radiance a single time. I love to use ulki in radiant dawn, but here I didn't use him. I want to, but the negatives are just so unfair that I just don't see myself using him. RIP Mr. Brendan Small. If only you had more avoid.
1:17:27 Brom can support Boyd and Zihark in addition to Nephenee. Having used Both Nephenee and Brom myself, their both good units. Brom has better supports than Gatire does and Nephenee is great after getting her promotion. Unlike Gatire, Brom gets some more mileage in being trained at a lower level.
Yea I think Zihark gets pretty damn godlike later in the game afyer you get over the initial hump. Once he gets to swordmaster he just starts shredding and he always avoids attacks his HP and his speed were insane
yeah with Marcia coming in on the pirate map even with the enemy with just venin axes she has a very low chance to hit for almost no damage while having high dodge if she get hit ones she'll most likely die to poison the next turn with out a heal. giving her a forge iron lance will help carry her to mid game or late game at the very lest it will carry you to Jill and then you can give the forge lance to her for the same reason.
I concur. My first playthrough had Ike accidentally level up to 20 REALLY quick after his dad dies. I'm sure I was just lucky, but I had to keep the rookie leader away from the fight for the Greil Merc's long term development. Man became a better Jagen than Titania, for real.
(Spoiler alert) I played thru the game for the first time last week... My favorite/mvp character was Nephenee. Maybe I helped that quite a bit by dropping exp on her, but vantage/wrath, she was insane. I also thought, because of the dialogues early game, that Rolf would be an insane killing machine...Since he says something like "I just might be gifted!" What a silly prank! By lategame he was very high level but sooooo weak, I realized how hard I got baited... I also thought that Volke was a spy for the enemy king... Actually, I thought for the longest time that either Volke or Soren were the spy... So I killed off Volke. Huge mistake XD He was actually the greatest good guy! Fuck.
Stefan is just a combat god bound by swords and no cav mov. Can one round just about any enemy for the entire game except late game generals. Busted pre promote
@summerwinter89 stefan is no joke my favorite character in fire emblem. Just give hin a goddess icon and he will be one round the entire game and be durable enough to not die on the front lines
First time i played PoR i played ut on hard mode and it was chalenging but fun Now i got it runing on my laptop again but i played it on normal mode And it makes me want to quit it, enemies commonly having 0 demage 0 hit against oscar is not fun, cavs cant dubble ike even when he is holding the heron girl (and they deal 0 demage) dont play normal mode, its just easy mode with extra steps
Oscar is just an immovable wall that somehow also moves fast .. wish he had more damage output and I didn't always get +Mag levelups on him :/ For some reason my Boyd always got screwed up by levelup RNG hard and mostly ended up as a mid-tier in everything for me :/ Shinon is a weird one .. he kinda turned into a tank after he got back? He's an archer that draws enemies and either absorbs hits or just avoids them. Never seen him die no matter where I put him on the field .. probably the weirdest of the bunch. But yeah Marcia, Oscar and Mist are like the trifecta of death in this game. With those 3 built somewhat decently nothing can kill you.
astrid has a bad time with strength,hp, or defense. makalov has a hard time with skill. oscar has a bad time with strength. kieran and titania are reliable paladins.
I’m currently playing this for the first time and my Marcia got level screwed. She was so good and then just STOPPED. Her STR is only 13 and she’s almost capped out. Like… how. I’m bummed because I like her! My Titania is far better.
Is the vigilence and insight skills really only +5 here as the video says? I thought it was +20 even on sites like serenes. Also! It seems so hard to rank characters on usefulness due to bexp. I never really use Astrid cause I'd rather keep that bexp, even when worth less to a more leveled person, that her. Feels like astrid had a lot of favoritism cause of unit feel and level up funs from paragon/knight ward and good growths.
In the original video (episode 21), Raisins later says that vigilance and insight give +20 avoid and hit respectively, since that’s what it says on Serenes Forest. I’m unsure if the math checks out, but I know Radiant Dawn adds +20 dodge and +5 vision range respectively on top of what they did in Path of Radiance.

There's a joke to be made here about the length of FE9 enemy phase
Oh man when I was playing maniac mode for the first time, I just started having two screens up, one for FE12 and one for maniac mode in which I'd play FE12 during enemy phase
@@johnzin6447 do the chores and learn a new language while that's happening
TBF PoR enemy phase ain't even that bad... it could always be FE4's
I’ve tried doing something else during enemy turns but then I’ve been hit with reinforcement waves that I didn’t pay attention to that just ruin everything
A joy to be part of all these unit analyses!

Using her in RD, she's fun. Especially with an elincia support or fire support
How funny that you upload this today. I just started an fe9 randomizer I got a mage Ike its been terrifying.
I clicked on this hoping to to get here before armourslayer arrived but good grief hes quick
I really enjoy using all the Greil Mercenaries, and adding Ilyana/Volke/Jill/Zihark as my +1
Still such a shame it’s not happening for radiant dawn 😔
I know I was hoping to see it since it's such a tradition and all that since I haven't seen the older plays of radiant dawn on the channel.
@Mekkah I think u were trying to think of the word(s) "Ludonarrative Harmony" harmony between story elements and gameplay elements
when it comes to provoke, ive had enemy archers leave their ballista to go to an empty one to attack brom from longer range because he had provoke and had a javelin while being in 1-2 range of the archer

oh my god that is hilariously bad lmao poor guy
that happens a lot. luckily he has an ike earth support. so he is still usable.
strength isn't the only stat he can screw up in. Guess who currently has to deal with a level 19 Oscar with 11 speed?
looking at Ena vs Nasir their base stats are mostly the same but Nasir come at lv18 with like 6 more speed, skill, and resist
The worst part of unit analysis in Path of Radiance for me is always when it's mia's turn
So last time i played FE9 i did meme around with Ulki and i had a lot of fun with the build i ran: Provoke + Pavise: Ulki is bulky, reasonably dodgy, and his bad meter is mitigated by provoke. Astrid? What about the “I don’t talk about high move archers”

I just played PoR. So this is perfect timing.
I predict Mekkah will be top tier.

You went through an entire analysis on Ike and not even once did you mention that he's pwnage incarnate. How could you?
well he doesn't have ragnell+aether yet, so it doesnt add up to pwnage incarnate.
I concur. My first playthrough had Ike accidentally level up to 20 REALLY quick after his dad dies.
