I have this ruler cutter and it works really well. You do need to have something soft on one side of it (then use this side up against the wall) once this is pressed up against the wall it's makes it easier to cut the fabric. You do need to add some pressure to get it to cut but after a while the cutter is easier to use.

Someone asked whether you could use the roller cutter markings to measure instead of the lines on the mat. Could you answer this question? I believe this was asked about 5 months ago, but I did not see a response.

Why not use the ruler strip itself to measure small strips instead of the lines on the mat?

How many thicknesses of material can it cut through? I mean, could it cut through a pillowcase to shorten it for a teddy bear's dress?

I am thinking to cut a wider strip would involve marking the fabric at that point and placing the cutter on those markings and then cutting.

You are cutting with your material on the wrong side. You measure the width of the material with the ruler. Not using the mat. Place the material under the ruler, to the width indicated by ruler marks, then cut. Widths over 6 inches can be cut the way you are showing.

Thanks for your comments. The ruler is available in one size only at this stage. What other sizes would be of interest and their application. Let us know your ideas. Thanks again for your comments.

I don't think you are utilizing the benefits of this great tool. You are using it like a regular ruler on your cutting mat. You can but then you are missing out.

Part of video is not understandable... always put what ??? under it -- tried the closed caption and they don't know how to translate her British accent.

Quality control is poor. Faulty glue is used, so the cutter separates from the ruler, some of the items do not cut smoothly but take heavy pressure. Stay away from this brand.

WOW IT DID THE SAME TO ME. I LOVED IT AT FIRST, THEN THE END SEPERATED FROM THE RULER.i THOUGHT IT WAS ME. THEN IT WOULDNT CUT NO MATTER HOW HARD I PUSHED THE CUTTER DOWN, I CHANGED THE BLADES MORE THAN YOU KNOW. FINALLY HAD TO TOSS IT, I WAS HEART BROKEN. I PROBABLY USED IT MAYBE 10 TIMES. AT THAT TIME I PAID ALOT FOR IT, NOW THEY ARE CHEAPER. I WOULD NOT BUY THIS, IT BECOMES UNSAFE.

I loved this when I first used it, but after a while the end came off and I was not able to keep the blade on. It was horrible. I wouldnt recommend this to anyone, it become dangerous. No safe !!!
