- A somewhat tongue-in-cheek cover of a classic, one of my all-time faves.. Hope you like it, and don't think I'm gay because I did this.. Not that there's ANYTHING wrong with that..I don't wear makeup, or dresses.. But I DO love this song..Forgive the mouthed trumpet.. please.. OK??

Larry..You do something, like with this one, that sets you apart from so many others.There are songs of female singers that men either can't or shouldn't try to cover..But you are the exception..It doesn't matter who you do(Carole's/Dionne's/ Minnie's..etc.etc.)..You do them all so well. I thought about learning this song a few times but every time I thought about it, there was no way I could change the gender. "morning I wake up, before I put on my (there's nothing that can go here to make it work for a guy). And "wondering what pants to wear now ?" (the whole song has just been destroyed). But you just did it as is and I don't think anyone would ever think you are gay. But I appreciate your funny remarks. I could never figure out what to do on instrumental parts either, so I hum or whistle them (I know, pitiful). You are truly THE KING OF THE COVER SONG !!!!
I was thinking "...the moment I wake up, before my bed is made up..." For the other verse, "...wondering what shirt to wear now..." follows the phrasing, Pants work too, as well as Shoes, Suit, etc, :-)

Been listening to a lot of music lately and a few songs struck me as ones you would do very nicely, "500 Miles (Away From Home)" by Bobby Bare or the slower version by Hoyt Axton... Also, "The Only Living Boy In New York" by Simon & Garfunkel... Also "Highway Patrolman" by Springsteen!!! Think you would give these fantastic songs a wonderful and charismatic "Larry Twist"!!!

When I me that song Walk on by, I learned it was made by Dionne Warwick, a name that I didn't know. Then I noticed that she (and the other composer) had made some other songs like I say a little prayer and I'll never fall in love again which I always considered great great songs, so I knew immediately that these two were genius.
