Hi Guys, I'm watching your videos, me and my girlfriend Simona have a boat in Puglia (Italy) but, unfortunately, we live in London... for now! It's great to see what you are doing and maybe we'll meet in the Mediterranen one of these summers! PS. my first guitar was a "vantage" , i ve been looking for other guitars like that one and I never found one till this episode where you show a similar guitar with the same name! LoL cheers guys
Another great video, it is such an eye opener how full the anchorages are in the Med. The snubber would it not be better to use the deck fairleads and not run it over the bow roller. As you do not want to snap the wood the roller is on. I am sure it is a sizable piece of wood but do was the Sampson post.
This channel is my favorite , I watch several sailing videos, most are of couples sailing in thousands of dollar boats, as far as I am concerned I much prefer working class guys like yourselves trying to achieve a dream on a tight budget in a small boat.
You are a very nice couple. Living the dream together. Very nice video. Have been following you from before the French canals. Hope you will be able to go on like you do now.Corona restrictions are getting worse in a lot of countries.
To lubricate a Jabsco toilet pump just unscrew the handle, remove the plunger. Clean it then put a bit of vaseline on the large O ring Works great and lasts months
You can get the same effect by just eating vaseline every few days and letting nature take it's course. I've been doing it for years and other than the hallucinations it's been working great.

Hi to the sailing fraternity. Particularly aimed at Mrs Wilding, always have some hard boiled eggs before taking off in a swell, it works well! Tell the old man to check up for boats for sale in the Netherlands, they always seem to be well looked after and there is one in particular I would like on Bootveiling.com. Best regards David ofbean.
Hi Mark & Nadiyana, well you are really living the "life" !!!!!!!! A seagull Poo-ing on your dinghy with a bubble no less. As a former Diving Instructor, a bit of money saving advice: To stop your diving mask "Fogging Up", just spit into your mask, rub it about then rinse it out in the sea. Or, rub the lens with a raw potato, it really does work. I'm a Gobber, BTW. Now, as soon as your wallet can afford it, please purchase some NEW, anchor warp. I think you're beginning to appreciate that leaving your boat on a dodgy piece of rope is a gamble. Your trek into "Town" brought back memories, manys the time I've asked my self why in hells name have I just walked 5/6 miles in these sandles??? The footage of the sunset, your tributes to each other and that KISS, pure "Box Office" !!!!!! Re: lubing your loo pump, a moderate greasing with Vaseline every couple of months......cheap as chips. As for Mossies, they HATE Vic vapour rub.....just sayin'. Kind Regards, Barnacle Bern S Y Cadbri
Great video guys really enjoyed that one much better than the podcast ( marmite you either love it or hate it !!!) I’ll second or third the comments on anchoring in sea grass, not sure which areas of the med it is but you can be quite heavily fined in some regions for it; and they do patrol.would have to look it up but it’s ringing an alarm bell somewhere in the back of my noggin from a video I’ve watched in the past ( think it might be one of Hugo the sailing Frenchman’s vids ). Love the “back up system” for your anchor very A team . Scenery looks stunning . Living the dream... not sure grape rustling is your forte though lol
I love your channel. Yep i know I've said it before. And again and again I'll say the same. Nadyana you seemed surprised about the nudity on the vessel. You do realise it's common practice. And skinny dipping of course. Pure magic when swimming in phosphorescence. Trust me on that. And Mark, "Good Tidings" IS capable of sailing down here to Nz. You can do it with your vessel. All the best and stay safe. Cheers Bryan.
@@Dayofthetriffids yeah g'day Ross. As a liveaboard, i spent a lot of time around Marlborough Sounds. Fun fact, M Sounds represents 16% of Nz coastline. Still haven't explored it all. Sadly because of health issues I had to sell up. And at nearly 74...it's looking less likely I'll be able to get back aboard. However never say never. Not sure if they can legally quarantine on Good Tidings in Nz waters. Would be great if they could. Take care and stay safe.
Hi Bryan I’m just hanging in with widespread arthritis, at 64. You must have had some great sailing around the Sounds, I’d love to make it down your way but unlikely. I’m moored at Coromandel and get to enjoy our islands, the Gulf and Great Barrier. Age can be such a pain! Anyway, stay safe in these odd times...
@@greysilverback3924 g'day mate. No worries. In my years of swimming off my yacht, no fish ever took a nip at my ol fella. But I've had close encounters with mermaids. Take care and stay safe.
i was surprised with the anchor on the weed patch. [its posodonia by the way] in some places its forbidden to anchor on posidonia and there is a penalty for that sort of thing. nice video.
Thats correct. In addition, even with the anchor well into the Poseidonia, the roots will rip off at 15-20 kn of wind and the anchor will come free. Be aware of this. Regards, Silvano
You can use mineral oil in head as a lubricant, maybe find it in drugstore / chemist or pharmacy. I t seems that oil you got in chandler, was overpriced due to packaging and marketing !.
@@WildlingSailing haha, yeah great huh? I decided to return to the uk for the winter rather than risk the weather heading further south. A 28 hour passage in fog wasn't much fun but made it back ok. Now spending 2 weeks quarantine on the hook :-)

Got to be careful with that type anchoring spot. I would call it rubble not sand (it will break down to sand at some point). Many times rubble is very shallow, just sitting on the original rock. The anchor does not have enough depth to dig in. Never trust that type anchor in grass, even with a lot of scope out. It just won't dig in. Only use a fisherman's type, that can penetrate the grass to hit the bottom. Just have to keep re setting the anchor until you get the hold you need. I find you do need a vinegar flush monthly. Not to kill anything but to dissolve the calcium buildup. No I would not want to sail that boat to NZ. Yes it might make it, but it is not designed for that. Still a good boat for what you are doing now. Enjoying the videos a lot. Former owner of Westsail 32 Satori.
