Yesterday, I met with a pen collecter ,Myk, in a pen festival. The first thing he showed us was an Eversharp skyline and he held it horizontally like a train and talked about where its design comes from. I bought an Esterbrook with lever mechanism from him (the first lever filling mechanism pen I had). And this is the first video I looked to learn the mechanism. I hope I will have a Skyline after this coincidence.
I just got gifted by proxy of a lady dropping off boxes at the antique room I work for , it was a 1941 to45 sheafers lifetime white dot fountain pen. It is the golden brown and pearl stripe gold nib. Than you for showing me how to fill this I was stumped , I think I got the best gift I could have ad a poet and writer. The handwritten. Paper with it says it was available almost exclusively to G.I during WW2. ITS WORKIMG AND IM ABOUT TO WRITE. It's engraved too,
The paper plate was too low. Could not see the entire presentation. Just an FYI. Other than that I truly enjoyed your presentation, it was very clearly described. Thank you Bruce for teaching me one more thing on vintage pens.
My dad just gave me a box of old lever pens so I wanted to make sure I knew how to open it, all I have to really do is slowly work with the levers till they are easy to open and I have to replace some of the nibs but that's about it other than refilling them

Thank you for this. I got a Waterman 555 from a family member and couldn't figure out how it was filled.
Well, now I know who my local pen expert is!! Really nice presentation Bruce.

I never thought the pen from Tom and Jerry was real

Thanks. I just encountered my first lever fill pen. I think it needs parts replaced, but I was not even doing this part right.
that was a lot of strikes. would help if you had a 90 gegree or 45 degree camera angle
Camera needs to follow the conversation. 😒
