Yes, Elvis had facial hair; you have to remember that it's a TV special...Elvis has a lot of stage makeup on for the cameras. In one of his last movies - Charro, Elvis has full facial hair - beard & mustache. Also, in his later concerts he's sporting 'pork chop' side burns which requires a lot of facial hair. Also, it's not the guitar, it's because it's Elvis; women swooned over him.

It was everything this man had that women adored. He was sexy as hell because he was tall, extremely good-looking, great sense of humor, a genuine, humble person, a kind, loving heart, very giving to people, every performance he gave his all, he could dance, and as we all know, he has a spectacularly velvety voice and a very masculine growl when he sings, he plays the guitar, did I mention he is EXTREMELY good lookin, and he was 1000% natural with his amazing talent. Hi Twano! Elvis was completely possessed by the music. His facial and body contortions are a response to the beat, the rhythm, the rifts. As he was quoted, “If I can’t move, I can’t sing”. When he said that, I don’t think even he realized to what degree that was true. One would think that a ballad would encourage none of that but when he sings every note is absorbed by him and we see its visual registery. Twano, I believe that you have said you are not a fan of the slow songs but if you watch his 1970 Live performance of Just Pretend, you will find a great example of how music translates through Elvis. And yes Twano, Elvis does appear to be having some very dirty thoughts in this one…Whoa Lawdy!.

Ha Ha you are not tripping. I think that a lot of his incredible appeal was that women wanted to love him and also mother him.
That is a very true statement. He had a Peter PAN complex and he never grew up so and it lost his mother at a young age, so yes, he wanted to be loved by women and he wanted to be mothered by women and interesting contrast, but makes him want you do just that!

Great reaction! He just had that “It” factor. Kinda hard to explain. Funny you bring up those sideburns. When he came out of the army in 1960, he didn’t have any. Frank Sinatra had him live in 1960…Welcome home, Elvis…after he got out of the army and Frank, when introducing him, mentioned he didn’t have of his signature sideburns. Here’s a chance to see him with no sideburns singing 2 songs, Fame and Fortune, and Stuck on You, and he also does a duet with Frank as well. No sideburns!
