Great hook; I am impressed with the description of the town buildings and people and her hidden business.
Please stop the redundancy; we know she is a military specialist, we know that the dogs are highly trained for combat, we know she has special paperwork for her past deployments
I'm not happy, you cut off the story on a cliff hanger.
