Fetch The Bolt Cutters is her ultimate idiosyncratic masterpiece. But this is probably her best album from a lyrical standout, and it’s one of the few best albums of the 2010s.
There is a clue to more Fiona music in Largo. She did go on to join the band, The Watkins Family Hour, I believe. Great stuff. They did a Tiny Desk concert in addition to touring. I also recommend looking for Dull Tool and Container, written for a movie & TV show respectively. She also did a cover of The Whole of the moon for the last episode of that show. Fiona's roommate Zelda filmed her recording the song (her UA-cam channel is Fiona Apple Rocks). It's a very amateur level video, but watching Fiona stomp her way through the song is so powerful. Oh, speaking of covers. Her most powerful performance imo is when she sang I Want You while Elvis Costello played guitar next to her on stage (they sang each other's songs that night).
Please do a review of Fetch the Bolt Cutters. I think For Her will elicit an "interesting" reaction, and the album showcases a maturation of her artistry. Other thoughts: Love those who can appreciate Fiona. What a unique artist. Thank you! Largo was not on the original album. Bonus track on subsequent releases? For each track I would play the entire song out - let viewers skip forward if they want. Looking forward to the Bolt Cutters review, and your take on the use of dogs. Yep, dogs barking as instrumentation... Is your interest piqued?
Great reaction and great album. Personally I think Fiona is a genius. It's funny though how underrated and lumped in as just another 90's artist she is.
One of the weird noises on this album is the sound of thighs pulling apart. It's listed for both the drummer & Fiona on Daredevil. Her sister sings with her on Hot Knife. They nearly look like twins in the video.
Watching you get excited about this album makes ME get even more excited about it!!
My favourite Fiona Apple album

There are tons of great albums from the 2010s
@@hamfam12345 Especially 2011-2013. That was a great few years of music. ‘Idler Wheel’ still stands out though.

One of the best records of the 2010s and barely gets recognized. Great reaction
Stripped down homemade percussion. She’s great. Hot Knife and a hypnotic banger

you really need to watch her live performance of “i want you” by Elvis Costelleto. absolute ate
Definitely give “Love More” a listen! Fiona has a cover she recorded for one of Sharon Van Etten’s (I think that’s her name?) albums.
This is my favorite UA-camr

I think the scraping sounds on Periphery are boots on gravel.
